“I found this clinic via Google search as I was dealing with worsening back pain (my latest result showed I have a disc bulge compressing against a nerve root). The staff at clinic are all friendly. I saw Yusuf back in April for an initial assessment, and due to the location of the compression, I was experiencing many various symptoms (sharp pain shooting down at various angles, some numbness down the leg), otherwise I was still able to sit/stand/walk. I had spinal decompression done, and decided to try the electro acupuncture for the first time. Unfortunately during the needling phase, the sciatic nerve was either nicked or punctured in the buttocks because I felt an electric shock. I asked if this was normal and was told it may sometimes be discomforting. During treatment, I didn’t feel very comfortable and did express it but was informed to try and relax (honestly I should’ve just told him to stop treatment). Since that session in April, I have experienced much more pain in my leg - burning sensation that never really goes away, constant pain in the buttock area where insertion was, numbness/cramps, and this time I get non stop tingling sensation as soon as I stand/walk in my foot/leg. These are all new symptoms post treatment. It has come to the point I had to take sick leave from work because I’m not able to function properly - I cannot stand or walk without any burning pain in the leg. It has also affected my sleep (hence why I am writing this at 4am). I cannot walk much around the mall or grocery store - within a minute of walking, I have to sit somewhere until the pain improves (and this has never happened before). My doctor prescribed various moderate pain killers, none of which have been helping. I have since sought treatment elsewhere, and was informed that my sciatic nerve was definitely nicked/punctured. The pain in my back has slightly improved but I am still battling that nicked sciatic nerve pain and I have no idea if this will ever improve or heal in a timely fashion. My warning to others is to be very careful with electro acupuncture (or any needling), and ask all questions. Otherwise, stick with non needling treatments.”Read moreShow less
