“I love this place so much, so welcoming and relaxing from the moment you step in the door. This visit I had an amazing oil massage by Tip, I love how they also include some thai stretches! I also love that they give you water or tea after as well! I like the wide beds. Perfect location right in Chinatown and great price for an indispensable wellness service. “This is my nom de plume. In any case I came here with my partner in incredible pain. I was massages by Cream and unfortunately I didn’t catch the other therapist’s name. We took the 1 hour massage but I will be going back shortly for 2 hours as the massage helped incredibly. I mentioned where my pain was a Cream naturally targeted those areas with extra care. I assume this based on my partners massage being in the stretching phase before mine. It’s been 2 weeks and I still am feeling better and benefiting from improved flexibility. “★★★★★ I had a fantastic experience at Rung’s Thai Massage in Victoria. My therapist, Thip, was highly skilled with around 10 years of experience. Before starting, I mentioned pain in my left thigh and she took extra care to focus on it with proper deep tissue work, which really helped. I booked a 90-minute session (deep tissue + hot oil) and it was excellent. At the beginning, I did feel some pain as she used strong elbow pressure, but that’s normal for deep tissue massage and it helped release a lot of tension. The session included deep tissue, hot oil, stretching and a relaxing head massage—all done seamlessly. The stretching part was especially impressive. The place is clean and calming, they use coconut oil, and the ginger tea after the session was a nice touch. Pricing is very reasonable—about $84 for 60 minutes and $131 for 90 minutes including tax. “Kind of a weird occurance and nearly two years ago. I got a massage that was booked and arrived here to be greeted by a different masseuse. My wife booked it so I wasn't sure.. it ended up i was with the wrong masseuse and they all had a big argument unfront of me. This was for my birthday and somehow I ended up with three masseuse for the price of 1, sounds pretty awesome and I was extremely grateful at the time.. The reason for this review however is the original masseuse I was suppose to have for some strange reason decided to take her thumb and was explaining she was trying something and to let her know if I feel it on the other side, she pressed down into my stomach hard near my belly button, I couldn't for the life of me figure out what she was doing, I looked at the other masseuse for help and she was smiling nervously it seemed and finally the pain was enough and I told her to stop it didnt feel good I didnt like it. Fast forward a few months later I have a hernia in that exact spot, and im kinda just figuring out now that this woman likely caused it or at the very least exacerbated it as it is still kind of a problem to this day. “I was searching online for deep tissue massage recommendations and read about Rung's on Reddit I believe. The reviews sounded great and I had never tried a Thai massage before. I then started researching the differences between a Thai massage and a deep tissue massage which I've had many, many times. The concept of stretching coupled with acupressure and deep tissue massage seemed interesting so I thought I'd give it a try. I booked for 2 hours as I wanted a full body treatment and from my research, a longer session is more beneficial because they can really spend time on your body. It was THE BEST massage experience I've ever had! I don't know why I never thought about trying this earlier! For those who have never tried Thai massage, be forewarn that it's not the kind where you fall asleep. I like deep pressure and that's exactly what I got. I also love the stretching part because I felt so good after being stretched like a pretzel! Going forward, I think this will be the type of massage I go for. I loved the combination! “My partner and I went for our first traditional Thai massage and by the end we never wanted to leave. We have both been to multiple RMTs and this was THE best massage we have ever received. We had Cream & Thip as our practitioners and they were so lovely, attentive and kind. They started us off with a warm foot soak and ended our treatment with a delicious honey ginger tea. They also had unbelievable strength, this was the first massage I have ever had where I didn't need to ask for more pressure. We went into this not having any idea what to expect and we are so very eager to come back!
