“So friendly and kind! The staff are amazing and it feels more like visiting a neighbour than going to an optometrist. This is exactly how small town businesses used to feel and apparently still can! I won’t go anywhere else for my eyewear”

“I am both impressed & very grateful for Robertson Optical & Optometry. My 3 year old recently broke the frame of my glasses and it was beyond repairable state. I was devastated as I wear these glasses all the time & they are my only pair too. Without my glasses, I would not be able to drive or read. It was a huge inconvenience. I went in the store desperately for help and their eye specialist Jeanette was so incredibly helpful. She immediately called the supplier for my frames and ask if a replacement pair is available. Then she proceed to find another similar pair of frames in the store, took it apart to replace the broken leg of my existing glass frame, so I can wear my glasses again as a temporary solution until my replacement frames arrive. I never would have thought this is possible, but Robertson Optical went out of their way to ensure I can carry on my day without any further inconvenience. They are knowledgable, professional & very attentive. They really go ABOVE & BEYOND to help me get back to my normal life and I am very grateful for their help. I highly recommend them!!!! “Edit: Thank you for removing my personal and healthcare information from Robertson Optometry's response. Original Post: Staff was great, but the lab needs better quality control. Two of my glasses had to be sent back to the lab. There was a gap between the top of the lense and the frame. I appreciated the staff sending the glasses back. After two tries, one of the clip-ons was still incorrect. I cancelled this part of the order. Overall, it took about two months.”Read moreShow less

“The care and extra mile this business goes for me is second to none (and I had an opportunity to test that out recently against my mother's glasses place & her experience) ! In February, my vision become odd in my left eye - as if I had some gunk in it....I thought it would clear up - it got worse. They squeezed in an appointment and rushed me immediately to the eye clinic in Vancouver as I had torn my retina. Kind of a big deal which Jeannette and her team handled masterfully. The complications with prescriptions & constantly changing needs has been challenging to say the least. The flexibility and TLC with which Jeannette and her team have supported me & now my mother, is why I am sharing this heart felt review. “I have been a customer at Robertson Optical for over 10 years. I have had multiple eye exams done with them, purchased lenses, a year’s supply of contact lenses on multiple occasions, so I have given them a good amount of business. I had a contact lens fitting done there a few years back (eye scan done with a machine to determine characteristics of the eyes to ascertain which contact lenses are the most suitable). At that time, they just recommended a particular contact lens which are daily use only. I have now started using monthly use contact lenses instead, and due to some comfort issues, I wanted to determine if the ones I’ve been using are the best suited for my eyes or if there are better choices available. Contact lenses have specific “base curve” and “diameter” properties and must be chosen based on the base curve and diameter of one’s eyes. The base curve and diameter of one’s eyes is information that is typically specified on a contact lens prescription, but when I had the test done, I was not given this information. I phoned in this week and explained the situation and the information I was looking for, and got attitude right off the bat, they seemed to think I was just going to buy the contacts I needed online and did not want to help. She was not interested in listening to me, kept interrupting, and when I asked if she could find my results in the system from the test I’d originally had done in order to give me the information I was looking for, she didn’t want to bother herself to do that and instead wanted me to come back in and pay for another test! I told her straight up that she was not being helpful and that her attitude was not acceptable but she does not care about feedback and providing good customer service. The most ridiculous part of all this is that the information I was asking for is information I should have been given WHEN I ORIGINALLY HAD THE TEST DONE!! The only thing they gave me when I had the test done was a printout from the machine with many numbers and properties that only someone trained in the field would understand. Apparently “I shouldn’t have been given this” and “she did not have time to explain it”. She was extremely unhelpful, it sounded like she thought I was just going to buy the contacts I needed online, even though I have bought contacts from them before (just not every single time I’ve ever needed them). I likely would have bought them from her again this time if she had been more helpful, given me the information I needed, and the prices were somewhat competitive. Where I was going to buy the contacts from is completely irrelevant anyway because the information I was requesting from them was regarding a test that I already had done WITH THEM, and paid for!!! I’ll likely have to pay for another scan again to get the information I need, information that I should have been given when I had the test done the first time. If I get another scan done, rest assured it will not be with Robertson Optical. I will never set foot in that place again. Do not give companies like this your business, they don’t care about their customers, only about continuously extracting as much money from people as they possibly can.
