Claire Liu is a warm and professional counsellor. I was looking for someone who could help me manage multiple stressors, and her wide range of expertise, combined with her calm and patient energy, allowed me to heal significantly and build practical tools to better support myself going forward. From our very first session, Claire created a safe space for me to open up without fear of judgement, which I deeply appreciate as an overthinker.

I was referred to Richmond Counselling & Wellness for an ADHD assessment, and I am very grateful that I was. My experience with Dr. Natasha Karim was exceptional. She was thorough, compassionate, patient, respectful, and understanding throughout the entire assessment process. As a mature adult seeking answers, I felt completely safe, heard, and supported. Dr. Karim took the time to understand my experiences and provided a comprehensive evaluation that ultimately resulted in an ADHD diagnosis. Being diagnosed later in life was incredibly validating. It helped me make sense of many challenges and experiences from my childhood and throughout my adult life. Gaining that understanding has brought me a great deal of clarity and self-awareness. Since starting treatment, including medication, my quality of life has improved significantly. It has truly been life-changing. I highly recommend Dr. Natasha Karim and Richmond Counselling & Wellness to anyone seeking an ADHD assessment, counselling, or therapy. Their professionalism, compassion, and expertise made a meaningful difference in my life.

Most websites that book through Jane app indicates the price per session or offer free initial X min consultation, but this clinic does not. The day before Rememberance Day, I booked a 60 min in person appt online hoping the price would show up, but it didn't. I called the clinic 30 mins before closing and an automated msg said the receptionist would be out of office until after Rememberance Day. My appt was on Rememberancr Day so I wasn't going to get answer before my appt. My counsellor called me a few hours before my appt and I asked her how much it was and she said $185 for 60min session. I was a bit shocked because that's the highest price I have come across. I attended my appt and had a good session with my counsellor, but I did not appreciate not knowing the price before booking and no one picking up the phone during clinic hours. If I knew it was $185 I wouldn't have booked with this clinic.

I am so happy I have found this counselling place. Life has been rough and how can people not having up and downs. I believe the toughest part in life is that when you are down and have no way finding a solution to problems that will leave you walking in darkness and hoplessness. That is how I feel looking for a way out in a stuck situation for many years. I tried few counselling from other places, but they didn't give me much help, just listening to me and that's it. It might be just me. Then, I came upon FB commercial on this clinic and thought I give it a try, and told the receptionist my request for my counselor, she gave me Andrew Lee. I am truly grateful that heaven has heard my prayer and send me help, I once thought, could Andrew be angel in disguise doing God's work? Maybe it might sound exaggerating, but to me, he is an angel send to help me. I experienced caring, and helpful ways to learn about myself, and also ways of how to help myself managing difficult situations. I can not say for other people, but for me, I finally see light at the end of the tunnel. Although it might still look far for me, but I no longer feel lost in the dark, one step at a time, I will reach the light . This is how I feel overall with my sessions with Andrew. " He gave me a key that's suitable to my problem so I can live a better, happier life style."

Many of our family members have been going here for years and they are excellent. I’m shocked at the bad review but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Richmond Counselling has helped our family, and me personally, immensely and I am so grateful for their expertise, compassion, empathy and kindness, from the office staff through to the owners/therapists.

The fish rots from the head down and the terrible advice/support I was given by the head of this team was a waste of time and money. They'll milk you for more and more with worthless advice as was done to me. Avoid this 'team' and the advice they give, which is little more than a ploy to get you to return for more 'sessions' of meaningless strategies. Counselling is meant to be supportive and provide guidance/advice, yet the only thing that was seemingly supported was this guy's wallet. "While we're sorry to hear that you've had a negative counselling experience, we also have no record of you ever coming to our clinic at all. Perhaps there was another counselling agency you went to? Also, we don't work with clients from a team approach which is more telling that your experience was not here. We wish you well." You may not have a record of 'Boris' seeing you. But I did attend Johnathan McVicar 'sessions' multiple times for long enough to realize how useless the advise that I was being provided. This person is a member of your 'team', in fact the head of your 'team' and my statement still stands. Do not try to excuse poor counseling with a passive 'wish you well, but it probably wasn't us and doesn't apply to us' handwave. Does one need to point your own website and how you describe your 'team'? Here let me help "...and Jonathan McVicar started Richmond Counselling in 2005 in order to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for Richmond, Delta, and Vancouver families and individuals. We have been blessed...joining us in providing caring, and effective support for our clients." If you are going to stretch my words from my initial comment/review perhaps you should be a little more selective in how you describe your own practice. I paid money for counseling and was provided with nothing in return. I am entitled to my opinion about the quality of what treatment, solutions, strategies, etc. I received for my time and money. Perhaps a description of how Johnathan often clasped his hands and had a furrowed look on his face and would lean in as he 'listened' intently to discussion would be more persuading. How he would sit cross-legged and with two hands pull his led up onto his other knee under himself. Or his often 5 to 10 minute tardiness? How about the artwork on the walls or the little clock on the table that separated the two seats? How about his sweaters? Or the little stories he shared from his own personal life? No... no.. you don't have a 'Boris' but I most definitely did spend time in that office getting 'counseling.' I just didn't find it all that acceptable or useful. I guess it's just too hard for 'you', whomever you happen to be, to accept that I felt 'you' did a poor job.
