“Since moving my family member to Venvi in September 2025, the experience has been extremely mixed. The nursing staff have been exceptional, caring, attentive, and compassionate. Unfortunately, the administrative and finance side has been the complete opposite. We have dealt with ongoing confusion around billing, unexplained monthly rate changes, and poorly organized statements that are very difficult to understand. Rather than proactive communication from the finance team, I have repeatedly had to chase down answers and investigate discrepancies myself. At this price point, families should not have to spend this much time trying to obtain basic clarity. Responses from the back-office team are often slow, communication is lacking, and the overall administrative experience has been frustrating and disappointing. It adds unnecessary stress for caregivers who are already managing significant responsibilities. The care staff deserve recognition, but the operational and customer service side of this residence needs serious improvement.”Read moreShow less

“I have recently moved into Venvi Place, an Assistant Living Facility in Don Mills, Toronto. I have a nice spacious one bedroom apartment with a balcony. It is very comfortable! The staff are exceptional - very helpful and very friendly. They provide wonderful, fun, interesting activities all day long from which you can choose to participate, or not. They bring in interesting people/groups to give talks or entertain. There is something for everyone!”Read moreShow less

“My mom has been part of the Donway Place family for the past four years. She recently transitioned from her independent living apartment into assisted living, which was always part of the plan when we first moved her in. The move was handled with so much care and compassion, and it truly means a lot to our family. It gives me real peace of mind knowing she is so well looked after. Thank you to the entire Donway team. “To say this senior’s place is BEYOND deplorable would be an understatement I have a friend in the complex who is dying at the moment , I used to go visit her randomly to make sure she was being taken care of ( she has no family members in Canada ) and I grew up with her my whole life - long time family friend . A few times I arrived and my elderly friend looked dehydrated and uncomfortable.. she begged for water and attention - she would ask me several times for things and to go get the nurse for assistance Because I addressed these concerns with the nurses there ; they became vindictive and called her family in the states to encourage them NOT to allow me to visit my friend in Toronto . My poor friend sleeps in a bed 24 hours a day alone and without visitors because this care centre threaten to contact police if I returned - simply because I was pointing out the fact that my elderly friend was not being treated with care and may be being neglected. Do yourselves a favour and look for a better place to place your loved ones .. not only does the place smell of BARN .. but I would NOT even let my special pet be taken care of by this facility Someone needs to report them to the government”Read moreShow less

“Our mom moved into the Donway in April 2018, where she lived for more than six years until her recent move into a nearby Venvi facility with memory care. I appreciate that there has been little staff and management turnover during that time so that I had the chance to get to know them well, and develop confidence that they knew Mom and were providing the care that she needed. Moreover, all the Donway staff and management treated Mom with kindness and respect. Specific appreciation to: Lynn the director, who sets the standard for making the Donway not just a retirement home, but one big extended family. This was especially important for me being 1800 miles away and only visiting every few months. Tess, the 6th floor PSW who provided direct care to Mom over many years, and made sure that I knew what Mom needed and how she was doing. Pamela, who went from room to room with an iPad during the pandemic, helping non tech savvy residents like Mom stay connected with our family over many months. Devon, who was always very kind to Mom and recently helped ensure that she looked her best for her 90th birthday. Sherri Ann, Resally, and the rest of the nursing staff who coordinated care for Mom and called me night and day if she was ill or had any other health issues. Dr. Barry in the health clinic. Loida and Mafe at the reception desk, who were always able to answer my questions or transfer me to those who could, at the same time they were masterfully coordinating communications and requests for the numerous residents, visitors, and staff who were coming and going.”Read moreShow less

“I came to the Donway Place in June 2021 for respite care. I was recovering from several major illnesses. Stayed for 4 months! Everyone, staff and residents were welcoming and took such good care of me. They helped me relax and made my family feel relaxed when they left me for the first time in a year. The rooms were very comfortable and the food, though family style, was nutritious. I immediately began to make friends and decided that when the day came, Revera Donway Place would be my next home. Here I am, picking up with new friends again as if I never left. Since I returned we’ve been on a couple of tours. The Van Gogh exhibit was awesome.
