“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Melissa and the care she provides. While she is a certified doula, her support truly goes far beyond what you would expect from traditional doula services. I first connected with Melissa after becoming pregnant through a successful round of IVF. Sadly, that pregnancy ended in miscarriage, and during one of the most difficult times in our lives, Melissa showed up for us in ways I will never forget. “Melissa, it was so amazing to have her with my first birth! She took so much time explaining everything to me, where my family doctor just gave me a basic explanation of some things, Melissa went all in! She took as much time as I needed to answer all my questions so I understood what was going to be happening before labour, during and after labour! I was almost 2 weeks overdue and Melissa was available for all the last minute texts and late night cupping sessions to convince my body that we were ready to go into labour. Once in labour, Melissa was there the whole time, telling me how well I was doing and giving me support in the hospital when I didn't know what to do. Since she is also a Registered Nurse, she was able to read my baby's heart rate and I could get her honest opinion on what was happening and decide from there how we wanted to move forward with the delivery. Through delivery and after, she was there, a gentle hand on my shoulder a person to talk to about this new life as she herself has a couple kids! I found great peace having Melissa there and I felt like I could relate to her in so many ways. I would highly recommend Melissa for any birth but especially a first birth, so you can know all the facts, have someone advocate for you, and have the best birth possible ❤️”

“Melissa was an incredible support through my pregnancy & delivery. When I got in contact with her I truly had no idea what to expect or plan for in regard to delivering a baby. She patiently and clearly answered all my questions, in person and over text. She was a huge help in making a birth plan (another thing I had no idea how to do) and when the time came, she was phenomenal at making sure that plan was followed as well as it could be. She was an incredible advocate & supporter, and I’m so grateful I had her with me when my daughter was born.💕”

“I met Melissa when my wife was already 35 weeks of pregnancy. My first impression to be honest was that she was too young to be a doula and help us with the entire pregnancy process, but I was completely wrong, because during all the time Melissa was my wife’s doula, she was a great professional and she always resolved all the questions and concerns that my wife had at any time. She meets my wife regularly and they create a strong and real connection, which in my opinion is extremely important if you want to trust in someone who is going to be your support during the most important moment of your life. My wife was overdue and it was thanks to her, that in one of the meetings she took my wife’s blood pressure and it was really high. Melissa was concerned about it and Immediately went to the Hospital to mention the situation. A couple hours after that and thanks to Melissa, the hospital received us. Melissa was with us from day one at the hospital, explaining to us all the process and how everything works at the hospital since we didn’t have any previos experience with this because this one was our first one. Another good thing with Melissa is that she had experience as a nurse before, so every medical term or question that we had was explained by her in normal and understandable words, and this is more important for us because our mother language is not English. During the dilatation process Melissa was taking care of all the symptoms and conditions that my wife had. In our case, my wife was in the process of dilating for almost 24 hrs but her body never got it, so after having a big chatting with Melissa my wife decided to request a c-section because, according to what had been discussed with Meliisa regarding the birth plan, this was the best option we had, since my wife did not want to take our baby to the limit by trying a natural birth that might not happen since there had been no progress for more than 12 hours. At this point, Melissa's support was decisive, since she guided us and gave us the security to continue with my wife's desire. During all the surgery Melissa was with us and helped me a lot with all my nerves and bad thoughts. I will always remember her for the passion and commitment with which she does her job. By the end of this trip, we found a really good friend and a very strong woman doing the best of the best to make this stage of our life the best experience possible, and she definitely did it! Thank you Melissa and I hope that many pregnant women can have you as their doula and enjoy all the good things you have to give them. Jhonatan Sanchez”
