“I stayed at the Post Hotel in Lake Louise, Alberta Canada on July 21 and 22, 2026, while on a hiking trip with Backroads in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. This is the most comfortable hotel I have ever experienced. The place is very well built, well organized and spacious. I booked a massage at the spa and it was a very thorough and necessary experience, as I was in a bad condition from rugged hiking trails for the previous 4 days. This hotel has a very nice courtyard in front with games for kids and very comfortable seating. Gorgeous flower boxes adorn the windows outside and small marmots or prairie dogs roam around, entertaining the guests. Occasionally, you may even spot a bear in the distance. The Pipestone River passes nearby almost in viewing distance from the parking lot, a very inspirational sight. The breakfasts and dinners were top quality and the service was impeccable. They have the largest wine collection in Canada and I believe the third largest in North America. There is a pool an hot tub on the main floor and a workout room and a small gift shop. I highly recommend this hotel, you will find your relaxation destination.”Read moreShow less

“I was extremely impressed with the Post Hotel. The entrance lobby is beautiful in a historic vacation lodge sort of way. The rooms are very large with excellent beds. They also had a TV and refrigerator. No AC but they did provide fans in each room. Almost all of them seem to have balconies with mountainside views. There is lots of parking. One very nice benefit of staying here is the free hiker shuttles which run all day every half hour. Lake Louise is incredibly crowded and almost impossible to park at, so these shuttles are invaluable if you want a stress free visit. The staff at the hotel was excellent, and they provided many nice touches like a fruit basket in our room and staff stopped by each evening to offer water bottles and a tasty treat from the pastry chef. The hotel has an excellent gym, large indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub. It’s a very each walk from the property across a small pedestrian bridge to the nearby Samson Mall where you can find a grocery store and a few small cafes and bakeries. “We had a great stay at this hotel. A special thank you to Neil for his outstanding service. Our sunrise tour was unexpectedly canceled in the early morning , and Neil went above and beyond to help us by arranging a hotel shuttle on short notice. He was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about helping us solve the problem. The hotel restaurant was also excellent, with delicious food. “A pleasant hotel with a great location close to Lake Louise. However, the welcome we received was rather cold, which is not what I would expect from a Relais & Châteaux property. One particular lady, whose first name starts with a V and who wears glasses (I do not wish to engage in any form of name-shaming), could benefit from smiling a little more and showing a bit more interest when interacting with guests. She seemed visibly bored, which did not leave a very positive impression. Another aspect I did not appreciate was the volume of the piano music next to the lounge area with the fireplace. I would have liked to spend more time there, as it is a lovely space, but the music was so loud that I found it difficult to enjoy. Holding a conversation with that level of background noise was nearly impossible. We had dinner at the restaurant, and the cuisine was excellent. “Had a wonderful stay here. The hotel feels cozy yet luxurious, peaceful mountain atmosphere. We really appreciated that they offer dog-friendly rooms, which made travelling with our pup so much easier. The staff were warm and accommodating, and everything was very clean and well equipped. Loved that the bath products provided were from L’Occitane — such a nice touch. The in-room dining was also a great option for us since we couldn’t leave our dog alone. The surroundings were beautiful and well kept, and hearing the river while going for walks was incredibly relaxing. Also very convenient being only about 10 minutes from Lake Louise. “Our stay at the Post Hotel & Spa was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled in the heart of Lake Louise, the setting feels like a quiet alpine postcard—peaceful, scenic, and effortlessly elegant. I had actually photographed a wedding here years ago, and from that moment knew I had to come back and experience it for myself. We chose it to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary, and it could not have been more perfect. Dinner in the dining room was a highlight. The Deep Sea Scallops were unforgettable—perfectly prepared and bursting with flavour. The Alberta Wagyu was rich and beautifully executed, while the Truffle Cavatelli was indulgent and deeply satisfying. The wine expertise is truly world-class, with thoughtful pairings that elevate every course. What made the evening even more special was the live piano—classic, elegant, and the perfect backdrop to an already memorable meal. Back in the room, unwinding beside a real wood-burning fireplace added a cozy, timeless touch to the experience. The spa and wellness facilities are equally impressive. The pool, whirlpool, and sauna are perfect after a day exploring the Rockies—quiet, well-kept, and genuinely rejuvenating. “The hotel and location are quite nice. Some of the staff provide very good service - particularly the younger staff who seemed warm and enthusiastic. In the dining room, we had shockingly poor service. We were there for over 2.5 hours for a main course and an appetizer. We were falling asleep so left before dessert. Our server appeared upset that we didn't order cocktails, and then left for an hour before taking our order, rarely checking on us and acting passive aggressive. The pub had much better service and the food there was pretty good. The rooms in our area had very poor sound proofing, so we were awoken each morning very early with families walking around in their ski boots. One night, staff tried to tell us the pool was closed at 9:45pm - even though the hotel lists 10:30pm as the closing time. Some of the massage therapists are not RMTs - we were not notified about this, so were not able to get reimbursed by our insurance provider. Overall, we very dissatisfied and do not believe the price of the stay was anywhere near the cost. At what we paid for rooms, meals on site, and massages, I would have expected much better in almost all areas.”Read moreShow less

“Beautiful hotel, very rustic cozy charm feeling. Rooms were quite nice, nothing super special to write home about but they were clean and lovely. Pool was nice, hot tub was a good warm but not hot by any means. And the sauna was like warm at best. The food in their dining room however was amazing, very very good.
