“We are so grateful to have been cared by Jade Team. Pomegranate has a very strong reputation in Vancouver for their deep care towards their patients. Dawn, Jenny and Maria are all fantastic experienced midwives. Each pre-natal appointment lasted 45 mins - 1 hour which exceeds what regular doctor visits allot, and there were no doubts along the way whatsoever. The birth support at our home water birth exceeded our expectations, as well as the in-depth post-partum visits where breastfeeding was supervised and taught. Jade Team visited us at home daily for the first week and then bi weekly after that until 6 weeks. I would recommend Pomegranate to any low risk expecting parents.”Read moreShow less

“we just finished our care with Pomegrenate (the Jade team) for the pregnancy and post-partum care of our first child and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience Love - the ladies on the jade team (and Jenna the lactation consultant) all cared for my wife as if she was their own daughter. the love, the care, the support and diligence they showed us in her and our baby’s care was everything we hoped for and beyond. they really care for you on a medical, physical, and emotional level in a way that an expecting and new mother needs. Medically-rounded approach - they are all very well-versed in the medical aspects of pregnancy, labour, and postpartum care and they are well-integrated into the local medical system for all of the above Communication - they were diligent, well-informed, on the ball, and available basically 24/7 which is a game-changing experience for anyone used to the usual Canadian medical system Team Approach - initially we were hesitant on the team approach system as opposed to one dedicated midwife but in hindsight we found the team approach to be way better. Their communication amongst themselves is so good that they never let you feel a gap, and we were able to get a holistic understanding of each issue by receiving multiple opinions when needed (not conflicting opinions mind you, just different) which we found to be extremely helpful in making informed decisions. all other health care providers will forever pale in comparison to the experience that pomegranate provided us, kind of want to have another baby just to experience it again lol WE HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.”Read moreShow less

“From the bottom of my heart, I thank you Pomegranate! The orange team midwives have empowered a situation that seemed so dire and depressing. My pregnancy took a south turn really quick and I’ll never forget how in the beginning of it all, they would call me and book more appointments to check up on me. It was such a scary experience but they made it less scary. I’ll never forget the day of my delivery, emergency c-section at week 25, with my midwife holding one hand and my husband the other, as the moment of uncertainty happened. We didn’t know if my baby was going to live and I’ll never forget, looking up at the monitors to see what they were doing with my baby, and my midwife walking me through what was happening and what she saw were “good signs.” The silence was piercing but her narration on what was happening made a huge difference. It was incredible to receive so much support while we were in the NICU for 4.5 months AND when we came home. This is not just a “service,” it’s humanity helping humanity. “The Huckleberry team at Pomegranate (Amanda, Cello, Moss, and Keisha) were the absolute dream team for my pregnancy and birth. They spent so much time caring for me and making sure I felt supported. Amanda guided me through the most calm, empowering birth experience (despite it being so fast and completely unmedicated she kept the tone so beautiful and peaceful). “We were cared for by the Jade team (Jenny and Dawn), and they were incredible—so encouraging, knowledgeable, caring, and respectful. Even though I came into their care late in pregnancy, they made me feel like they had known me for a long time. It’s been months since, and I still think about how amazing they were. I honestly don’t know how they do it all—going from office visits to home visits to births, sometimes all night long—yet they still show up with undivided attention. One of the best parts was being able to call them during early labor to figure out if I needed to go to the hospital, and also being able to reach out afterward with questions or concerns about myself or my baby. At home check-up visits are so convenient. Their in-house lactation consultant, Jenna, was also incredible. If you want both emotional support and knowledgeable guidance during and after pregnancy, I can’t recommend them enough. “Highly recommend Pomegranate Midwives! We were supported by the Red Team and had such a positive experience both times. Ali was there for the birth of our son, and Sophia for our daughter, both were incredible. “Myself and my newborn daughter had the privilege of being under the care of the Orange team throughout pregnancy and postpartum. The Orange team has been incredible every step of the way. They were extremely knowledgeable, supportive, available, caring and kind. I feel like the care that we received from the Orange team midwives is the best side of the healthcare system in BC.
