So glad I found Dr. Kelly Robertson at Pinpoint. I try to stay very active as I age, but my old sports injuries required some specialized treatment to allow me to continue cycling and hiking without pain in my knees and one hip. Starting with a consultation appt., Dr. Robertson, reviewed my X-rays, and walked me carefully thru the reasons for advising a cortisone injection for my painful hip bursa which was then scheduled and she explained perfectly what to expect for results. As hoped, that injection bought me the short term pain relief to allow my body's own healing process to occur. The hip issue successfully dealt with, a different treatment was to be used for the osteoarthritis in my old basketball knees. Again guided by X-ray analysis, Dr. Kelly agreed I was a good candidate for PRP injections (Platelet Rich Plasma), which is a safe and non invasive procedure where a small amount of my own blood is withdrawn, and then the vials spun in a centrifuge to separate out the red blood cells. Then my Platelet Rich Plasma, using ultrasound, was carefully re-injected into the exact places of my knee joints where the X-ray showed the arthritis was worst. I arrived to the appointment with knee pain in every step, and an hour later (the centrifuge process is what takes the time), I walked out pain free! That was two months ago, and continues! PRP injections provide some cushioning effect as well as creating and environment within the joint where the body's own healing process is enhanced. The relief typically varies from patient to patient, but generally continues to improve for 3 months and then the positive effects last up to a year, and can the treatment can be repeated. And subsequent treatments - if effective initially- are often longer lasting. Since the treatments, my life has changed for the better, big time! I took comfort in reading the Mayo Clinic's large clinical study before deciding to consult Dr. Robertson for treatment - do your own research. As for Dr. Kelly Robertson, I had total confidence in her - very thorough in her diagnosis and recommended treatments, she's insightful and makes sure you have an understanding of the treatment recommended. She has a manner that puts you at ease. And as for the drawing of blood & injections- her technique was better than any gifted dentist I've been to in my 71 years of life! Thank you Dr. Kelly, I'm back to enjoying life again!

So I have been going to Pinpoint for almost ten years, seeing Joe Box, and while he is excellent I never bothered with the google review because Joe is busy enough as it is! But he is away so I saw Leigh today and they were great, and possibly less busy just because they are newer to town. So if you are looking for an awesome physio, check out Leigh.

Great experience with Dr. Robertson today. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She had my x-ray results of my knee and pulled up my CT scan from the Nanaimo hospital. I received an ultrasound guided Cortisone injection. I had 100% relief when I left. Very impressed.

I chose Pinpoint Therapy in Nanaimo for my rehabilitation after my total knee replacement I was very impressed with the office and staff. Ample parking was a bonus, friendly front staff and a clean and bright office I am so pleased Kayla Larsen is my therapist. Before my surgery I was told by many friends that if you like your therapist they are not doing their job. In other words, to get results you need a drill Sargent . In my opinion there is nothing further from the truth. After my surgery I felt broken and depressed. I did all of my exercises but felt like I was going nowhere fast. Kayla is an excellent therapist but she also has a way about her that she can sense when you also need that boost, more confidence and even a hug. She is so energetic and truly concerned about how you are really doing, mentally and physically . I actually feel more confident about my progress when I leave after my treatment. It has been an interesting journey for me. I had no idea that therapy was not just about getting my new knee to work but to tell myself I am doing okay . I look forward to the day when my therapy at Pinpoint is complete, but I will never forget the true kindness I was shown Thank you

Sometimes you just go to a place and just feel so welcomed. I’ve been to many healthcare practitioners over the years, but I was blown away yesterday with my first experience at Pinpoint . First off I was greeted by Alex who is just so lovely and friendly. She clearly loves her job and made me feel very welcomed, and then I saw Dr. Kelly Robertson.. what an absolute gem and super professional, I felt very safe in her capable hands to get the hyaluronic acid injection for my knee. Hopefully I don’t need many repeat treatments But if I do, I look forward to going back there for sure.. In fact, I think I might move over there for my other Physio and stuff like that. Highly recommend!
