“I had a massage with Gaëlle and the whole experience was so strange. The morning of the appointment while I was still asleep, I received 3 back-to-back phone calls from an unfamiliar number who didn't leave a message, and when I googled the number, nothing came up. Then on my way to the appointment the same number called, and when I answered it was Gaëlle saying she could move my appointment up by 15 minutes. As I was already on my way and live far I told her that I could only arrive for the original scheduled time. She said ok and she would be there when I arrived. I arrived 7 minutes early and a woman handed me a clipboard saying to fill it out and asked if I wanted an insurance receipt. She never introduced herself or confirmed my identity. Then when we arrived in the massage room she said that the massage would be cut short by 5 minutes because of a scheduling conflict. I was disappointed but agreed without hesitation and then we went through a medical questionnaire. She explained how to get set up for the massage and said she would be using essential oil-based products. When she came back in she rushed to roll down the blanket and applied 3 or 4 different products, including a spray that surprised me as it was already very cold in the room and the spray was even colder. She then put a rough towel over my head and tucked all of my hair into it and tucked the ends tightly under my shoulders, this seemed strange as I have never had a massage therapist cover my hair. Throughout the massage any time a hair popped out she would stop and hyper focus on tucking it all back in, this happened at least 3 times and was pretty distracting. I don't know if it's essential to the massage or if she just doesn't like touching hair. She then began and I've honestly never had anyone move their hands so quickly during a massage, it did not feel very therapeutic and I could tell she was in a rush. Throughout the massage she kept grunting, I don't know if she was sick or congested but it seemed that way. The whole process felt rushed, she kept telling me to breath and relax and even tapped my ear a few times while insisting I relax my neck. I told her that I was trying but that it was more difficult on one side of my neck than the other. By the end I felt really stressed and vulnerable, and it was so cold in the room that my hands felt numb. I think Gaëlle really needs to work on her people skills because she was extremely abrupt and never smiled. When she would ask a question she would just stare blankly and seemed uninterested in my response. I should not have had to experience a rushed massage that was cut short on top of it due to a scheduling error that didn't concern me. She still billed me for a full 60 minutes even though by the time the massage started it lasted maybe 50 minutes. I would not return as this is the second uncomfortable experience I have had at this establishment and both times I left with the same amount of shoulder pain that I walked in with.”
