I left 3 messages with them and no one could be bothered to call me back. I won't even consider using anyone with Penny Murphy and Associates anymore. *UPDATE* Penney saw this review and sent me an email to explain what happened and I am quite satisfied with her explanation. I think that's great of her to do that and I will be giving them a call. Thanks Penney

Jesslet has been a wonderful “ life coach” / counsellor for me a few years now. She’s given me many ideas to cope with my anxiety and depression. She’s always been a great listener and usually has great ideas for me.❤️👍

Jesslet is a kind, open and generous woman. She makes me feel safe to open up to her. There is no judgement or shame in my sessions with her. I am autistic and she seems to really understand what I’m trying to convey. Jesslet is a joy to work with.

My daughter and I went to some of Penney’s classes as well as some personal one on one counselling. We were both very happy with the classes. Made us look at ourselves, everyday life and how to create peace and happiness in our day today life.

My wife and I were at a rough patch in our marriage of 10years. We each went separately and together. After several sessions we were able to come together and work our issues way beyond what we thought. It’s 8 years later and we are still going strong. Thank you Penney & your great staff

While Murray is kind and I am sure a helpful person to most, for myself, I did not feel a safe space was created for me or my marriage. I believe he was ultimately ill-equipped to handle our situation and wish he had been upfront about that, rather than letting things spiral. I left our sessions disappointed and without any actual tools to help. In the end, my marriage is healthy-er today specifically because I did the opposite of what he had suggested.

I had an assessment in September of 2024 with Murray. Having the assessment provided me with more in-depth knowledge about myself, and validated my experiences. Most importantly, having an assessment, and getting answers provided me with a type of dignity and grace, and tolerance that I had never before allowed myself to have. After the assessment, I finally had words to describe what I have been experiencing for the majority of my life. Having an actual name for it allowed me to understand that I was not wrong or defective; my brain just processed information differently than others. Being able to have my experiences validated, and to know more about myself and my diagnosis helped me become kinder to myself, not put so much pressure on myself; or hold myself to a neurotypical standard. Having less pressure on myself, and understanding how my brain worked helped me modify my study methods to ones which were better structured to my way of processing information, and I felt more confident as I continued my academic career. Since my assessment, I was able to access academic accommodations which made a huge difference; and I was able to thrive. For my coursework, with the information I had, and resources I was given, I was able to develop a new pattern - one with appropriate study methods for my way of thinking, and self-compassion; instead of a pattern of emotional meltdowns and excessive burnout. It made me wish I had done so sooner, but I am grateful to now have the opportunity to get to know myself again, and this time in the best way possible. Thank you for everything Murray!

"Very unprofessional and left feeling worse than I did going in. And it wasn't even for me. I mentioned some concerns to the staff that I had about protocols not being followed and my being discluded from important information regarding my child, and was told by penny personally to seek professional help for myself elsewhere kicked off of their platform, and gaslit. Even after I tried to apologize for any misunderstanding, instead of Penny taking accountability for her error she shifted the blame on me, broke my confidentiality and put barricades up for my son to have the help he needs. Oh and to top it all off penny is going to help my child's mother steamroll my parental rights and continue on with their services once they take the necessary steps to over ride the need for my consent. She guaranteed it actually to my ex.

I’ve been going to Penney Murphey Associates for over two years and I see Jesslet. When I started going to therapy, I was a very internally stressed and depressed person with anger issues, severe paranoia and anxiety. Jesslet was extremely understanding and had a lot of patience with me, never once forced me to talk if I didn’t want to, or made me talk about my experiences. I can proudly say that she is one of the reasons i am in a much better mental position today, and that she not only made me feel understood, but loved and accepted. I always look forwards to our appointments and I always leave them with a smile on my face. She is one of the sweetest, most pure souls and makes you feel very safe and comfortable. Thank you for being so awesome Jesslet!
