“It’s hard to overstate how rare (and how radical!!) Meling’s approach is. I often think that if healthcare were redesigned around the way she practices, we’d be living in a better world. Her support feels like getting a small glimpse of the future I most hope for. What does Meling’s microcosm of the future feel like? 1. It’s generous.
Meling gives time, presence, and attention in a way that’s almost unheard of in healthcare. I never feel rushed. She just listens—without judgment or agenda. 2. It’s hopeful.
She never gives up me, even when things are complicated or take years to untangle. In my case, I broke both my feet, which was a hellish experience and created all sorts of unexpected downstream impacts. 😭 Where other practitioners told me to there was nothing else they could do or made me feel like I was failing at recovery, Meling stayed with me and opened up space for little bits of progress. 3. It’s curious.
Meling asks questions, which seems basic/101 but it’s not (especially when you’ve worked with someone for a while). This curiosity has opened new paths for me so many times (ones that overlooked by others). She makes connections no one else has made an effort to see. 4. It’s technically skilled.
I’ve seen many TCM practitioners over the years, and Meling’s expertise is exceptional. I’ve been seeing her since 2021, and whether supporting hormonal health, injury recovery, stress, CV-19 recovery, or facial acupuncture, she’s the best. She also always asks for consent before trying anything new (i.e., needle placement or modality). Maybe most of all, Meling’s care challenges the false binary of “expert vs. non-expert.” I really feel like we’re working together and like my perspective is welcome/necessary. Honestly, I can’t really ask for anything else. Thank you for everything, Meling!”

“Meling is so caring and a total expert at TCM. I came to her with several complex health issues, specifically looking to help with a very stubborn chronic condition. Together, we worked on a treatment schedule that suited my needs. I had seen other acupuncturists before, but had not found relief from this condition. I want to thank Meling for her knowledge and sensitivity. My sessions with her helped with many of the other conditions I was dealing with. In addition, the condition of greatest concern has now been in remission for 6 months. Doctors wanted to put me on drugs that gave me awful side effects and really did not work. “Our family has been going to Pao Wellness for over a year and a half and we cannot thank Meling enough for all that she has done. My son was diagnosed with a rare disease in late 2019 and in January 2020 we made our first appointment at Pao Wellness to ensure we were doing all we could to keep him healthy. As soon as we met Meling we could tell how caring and compassionate she was and as we started getting treatments we could see the positive impact they were having. Within a few months all of the family was seeing Meling and her acupuncture treatments helped us with stress, injuries, etc. She uses many different techniques and has also introduced us to some alternative medicines which we have tried and had great success with. During the pandemic, when we were unable to go to the clinic, she checked in routinely and offered a complimentary online session to set if she could help in any way.
