“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had to visit the Orillia Hospital Emergency Department two days ago after a sudden severe headache while we were enjoying our time at the cottage. From the moment I registered until I was discharged, every staff member was exceptional. Crystal and Sara were two of the kindest, most compassionate nurses I’ve ever met. They made me feel comfortable, kept me informed, and treated me like they had known me for years. Dr. Evan was outstanding. He listened patiently, took my concerns seriously, thoroughly ruled out every possible issue, and never made me feel rushed. The entire team worked efficiently, and all the necessary tests were completed much faster than I expected. A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Orillia Hospital ER for your professionalism, kindness, and outstanding care. You turned a stressful situation into a reassuring experience. Keep up the amazing work!”Read moreShow less

“The worst Ontario hospital with the worst wait times. Got there at 12:55AM and left on my own at 5:15AM because the doctor still didn’t see me. Would’ve had better care at a hospital in Toronto. I would’ve been seen, cared for, discharged and been home in that time. People complain about Toronto but this was the longest wait time considering there was only 3-4 people ahead of me. I’ve been to Scarborough hospitals with 20 people in front of me and have been seen faster. Insane. One doctor on shift at Orillia Solders hospital seeing all the patients in the hospital including ER. I kid you not. I was the only patient in the waiting room at one point for 3 hours.”Read moreShow less

“We were in an unfortunate situation where we had to bring our 9 months old granddaughter to the hospital via ambulance. I have to admit based on past experience I was worried about the care she would receive. However, from the ambulance staff, to the triage nurse and the attending physician Dr. Fiddler, we couldn't be more happier. Excellent work by everyone involved. Thank you all for the care and attention you provided to our precious angel. Wait times can improve for sure, but that is a whole other issue our health care system is facing.”Read moreShow less

“Partner had to go to ER for chest pains. We’re from Barrie but did the trek to Orillia hoping the wait times would be better. OSMH did a fantastic job - from reception to triage, followed by our fantastic nurse and the doctor’s knowledgeable and comforting analysis, we walked away feeling reassured and taken care of. Thank you for all the work you do. P.S: nurse Phil deserves the best retirement of his life when he decides to take it ;) you all make a difference, thank you.”Read moreShow less

“I visited the chapel. We also checked in for a pre-op. And also the timmies gift shop is in the same area. The check in kiosks are intuitive, and there is always someone there to guide you. The amazing volunteers are at the ready at the front entrance, and gift shop/Tim Hortons and are quick to guide you around. The parking kiosks are ok to use but the one inside the hospital today was down. The parking lot is rough. Needs paving, and is crowded. Although the parking payment tickets worked, this is one of the worst maintained lots I've seen. I suppose it could be that the hospital is getting rebuilt so why put money into the lot?”Read moreShow less

“Long story short. 3am woke up with weird chest pain, dizzy, jaw and back pain. I drive to solders memorial ER. I was the only person waiting to see a DR. I hear the nurses and the rent a cop that protects the hosptals empty halls. Talking not nice about me. Heard it clear as day on the other side of the door and 100% it was about me. Then I finally got into a room after 1.5H wait and remember i was the only person in the waiting room still took 1.5H. Nurses ask why am I here for the same thing. 1st off its not for the same thing. 2nd that was almost 3 months ago. It made me mad cause it was a obvious jab at me. Just for them to go and sit at a desk and gossip literally the entire time I was in the ER that night. The Dr also asked why would I come in at this time of night. Hmm because I woke up in the night with chest pain, dizzy, jaw and back pain. That's why. Like so damn Lazy. Btw they also didnt do any test other then blood work. No ECG no blood pressure or heart rate tests. Disgusting how lazy and disrespectful they all acted. Like they got grumpy that 1 person came in and now they actually gotta do some work. The people that worked that night need to be fired and the jobs given to nurses and DR. That actually want to work. They should be ashamed. But we all know they arnt.”Read moreShow less
