Dr. Jake Hanna was punctual, professional, and attentive. His demeanour was also kind and easy-going, which put me at ease. Neither the assessment nor the treatment felt rushed, and I walked out with a practical, detailed care plan from my first session. Above all, I was surprised by how active a listener he was throughout the entire appointment which is hard to find. Would return!

Dr. Katrina has provided excellent assessment and exercise treatment plans tailored to my pre- and post-marathon training. These helped target painful areas and addressed the root cause. She has also provided exceptional care and rehabilitation support during my postpartum recovery, which helped me regain my strength. I highly recommend Dr. Katrina because she genuinely cares about her patients, follows up consistently, and has significantly improved my overall health and well-being. Thank you!

I absolutely love going to Optimal Performance, whether it's for acute issues and or just a general tune up. Dr. Katrina Hombrebueno is such a professional and every time I go in for an appointment, I leave feeling 100x better. She is extremely knowledgeable, empathetic and skilled at what she does. Especially as a fellow runner, I feel incredibly seen and taken care of as her patient. I would recommend Dr. Katrina to anyone.

I started working with Jake because I had upper back pain that I couldn’t fix for years, despite trying different approaches. Working with him has been a game changer. His approach to functional training has been eye-opening, and I’ve learned a lot about movement, anatomy, and how to train smarter. The guidance on nutrition paired with my new program, has made a huge difference in both my performance and recovery. Most importantly, my upper back pain has improved dramatically. Jake is knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in his clients’ progress. I highly recommend him to anyone dealing with back pain or looking to take their training to the next level.

Optimal Performance has built an exceptional team — knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly invested in their clients’ wellbeing. I began working with Dr. Katrina Hombrebueno for chronic SI joint and hip pain. Over the last eight months, she has also supported me through scar tissue release following breast cancer surgery. Her expertise, kindness, and steady guidance have made a tremendous difference. She is someone I would highly recommend to anyone needing thoughtful, skilled care. As my progress continued, it became time to take the next step — and that’s when I started seeing Dr. Natalie Blake, who brings the added specialty of exercise‑based rehabilitation. After only two sessions, I already feel miles ahead. She’s helped me build a clearer plan, a stronger mindset, and a deeper understanding of my body mechanics, especially for weightlifting, which I absolutely love. Dr. Nat is incredibly knowledgeable, easy to connect with, and absolutely someone I highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn proper lifting form or rebuild their foundation. Thank you, Dr. Kat and Dr. Nat. I feel so lucky to have you both in my corner.

I’ve been having a hamstring issue for a few months. After seeing Katrina for an active release session, the discomfort I’ve been experiencing completely went away. Katrina is very intelligent and fantastic at the work she does. Thanks Katrina!

As an athlete growing up the transition to weekend warrior has not been welcomed by my body. I was recommended to see Elna over 20 years ago - no matter what injury I sustain in my weekend adventures, Elna has always nursed me back to the field, track, ski hill, mountain and beyond. She is my trusted go to for anything going on with my body and is even now treating my kids when they sustain soccer injuries. I wouldn’t be able to be as active as I would like without the care and attention I receive from Elna and her team. Thank you for all the years of getting me back out there Elna!!

I’ve seen Rohit twice now and he is hands down the best physiotherapist I’ve ever worked with. I first went in for sciatic pain, and more recently for tennis elbow, and both times his assessment, treatment, and explanations were outstanding. He’s extremely knowledgeable, highly skilled, and takes the time to clearly explain what’s going on and how to fix it. I felt confident in the plan and saw real improvement. If you’re looking for a top-level physio who actually knows what he’s doing, Rohit is exceptional.

It's hard to put into words what Elna and Katrina's care has done for me. I started seeing Elna over 2 years ago when I moved to Vancouver due to pain I experience with Lupus. I see Elna on a monthly basis and Katrina when Elna is away or booked up. They both take time to understand what pain/discomfort I'm experiencing and use active release therapy to significantly reduce the tightness I feel. While it's common with Lupus to have to see someone frequently for maintenance, I know others who I've referred who have experienced great help in just a few visits without having to frequently return. The expertise and understanding of the body they both bring is incredible, and I always know I can trust their assessments of what is causing pain/discomfort and trust they'll be able to help. I genuinely don't know how I would function without Elna and Katrina's care. I couldn't recommend them enough, and will forever be grateful for how they enable me to continue to live an active and comfortable life!!!

Kat’s ongoing support, both mental and physical, has been a driving force in helping me set higher goals and accomplish things I never thought possible in my running journey. With her care and guidance, I completed a 35 km trail race in 2024 and a grueling 27 km endurance run with 1,500 metres of elevation in 2025, milestones that once felt completely out of reach. I’ve now begun a long-term training and maintenance plan with Dr. Kat as I work toward a 42 km trail marathon in 2026, something I genuinely never imagined myself pursuing before meeting her. Kat’s approach goes far beyond injury prevention or treatment; she supports the whole person and helps you explore what your body is capable of with confidence and care. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kat to anyone looking to explore the edges of their strength and endurance, in whatever sport or movement practice they feel called to. Thank you, Dr. Kat, and the entire team at Optimal, for everything.
