“Dino Bertani was truly a needle in a haystack find for me in the healthcare world! After seeing 7+ physios and a few personal trainers over the years, I was referred to Dino by Serah Park (Physio & co-owner of Striowski & Associates Physiotherapy), when looking for a personal trainer who has experience with people who are hypermobile. Having sustained a few concussions, the multidisciplinary training that Dino has with people who are hypermobile, concussion management, being an FCAMPT certified physiotherapist and a certified personal trainer, has been life changing for me in my recovery and long-term pain management. I didn’t think I’d be able to find a healthcare professional with the combination of professional training I require, and who has a holistic view of care too. I am typically seen as an outlier in the healthcare space, however for the first time, my complex condition(s) are validated and normalized. What a breath of fresh air to not have to advocate so hard for myself! I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dino the last few months. From the start, he is very attentive to my personal training goals, various health needs and ongoing issues I have with my upper body and knee. He is quick to take note of any anxieties I may have and ensures he explains what the treatment or exercise(s) will be/look like, so I know what to expect. It’s not hard to tell that he is trauma informed with great EQ. I’ve suffered from headaches for years, which have often come from my neck, but he has also suggested that it could be coming from the jaw; suggesting a TMJ issue. I was used to my half smile and limited jaw mobility, but after he did some TMJ work, I’ve been able to smile with both the upper and lower teeth, and have increased mobility in my jaw, which hasn’t been the case for over 8 years! Not to mention, I have decreased headaches. Fixing old issues has been pleasantly surprising to me. On the weight training front, seeing physical changes, an increase in strength and decrease in pain from the combination of exercises is encouraging. The progress has also significantly improved my mental health and self-confidence in the gym, most of all. I can start to see myself doing things I didn’t think I’d be able to do before and was fearful of, after several injuries. Dino is a great support, patient and checks in to ensure that any questions are answered and feedback is given, even in between sessions. He is gentle, kind and professional in his approach and motivates me to try new exercises out in a safe manner, giving clear & detailed explanations and encourages with body positive comments. He also frequently asks how I am feeling and whether I am comfortable with the treatment, pressure, activity and gives me agency in my treatment. Such a professional and knowledgeable physio & personal trainer, with top-notch bedside manners, quality of care and an encouraging, genuinely compassionate, sweet, kind and gentle personality. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for an amazing physiotherapist and/or personal trainer, even if you have long-term or old issues! Dino is without a doubt, the best physiotherapist I’ve had the pleasure of working with. The clinic is also clean, he is very accommodating to my schedule, on time and there’s always a sweet dog to greet you.”
