“I have suffered for years with a bad lower back. I went for years to Physiotherapy and doctors, with little results. It got to a point where I couldn't even walk without pain, let alone bend even a inch. For years I resisted going to see a Chiropractor since I was always told they were quacks and not real doctors. Well, after the x-rays, not only was he able to tell me exactly what was wrong and how he could help me, but he also was able to figure out another issues. “Dr. Ray Makortoff has been my chiropractor since 2009. His practice excels in every regard: he's an excellent hands-on doctor, skilled, intuitive, and grounded. The holistic nature of medical concerns is no easy science, but a patient who chooses Mt. Sentinal, in conjunction with self-care, is sure to make steady progress. I've been in good hands for 10 years, able to remain fully functioning in my trade - strong despite minor scoliosis. “My Doctor strongly recommended against Chiropractic care. So, for two years I suffered with chronic pain. I was on heavy doses of medication and couldn't concentrate at work. I eventually had to go on medical leave. A friend recommended that I see Dr. Makortoff. He took x-rays and conducted tests before providing me with his recommendation for care. He said that we would monitor my progress based on test results and not according to the level of pain in my body. After 6 weeks of treatment, three times per week, I felt dramatic improvement. After three months I was able to return to work, exercise, and enjoy quality living. The only regret that I had was that I waited so long to find Dr. Makortoff and get his help. I've seen the reviews that say that Dr. Makortoff is expensive and that he doesn't adjust on the first visit. Believe me, it is worth the investment and also getting a thorough examination, including x-rays, before proceeding. I had a one-time adjustment with another chiropractic before seeing Dr. Makortoff. “I have been under the care of Dr. Makortoff for 20 years now. I appreciate his flexibility in accommodating the as and when needed treatments. I agree with the use of x-rays which provide undeniable physical, clinical evidence of mis-alignment and form a road map for a treatment regime. While the x-rays and treatment schedule seems a bit financially overwhelming, there is no guessing where the misalignment is. I have seen several other chiropractors in Castlegar, and Dr. Ray is the only one that can quickly narrow down the area that needs adjusting. “CAUTION! If you are looking for a chiropractor in Castlegar, make sure you find out exactly what you're getting into before you commit. I was ready for an adjustment and was recommended to Dr. Makortoff. After an hour and a half of "consult" - including a set of X-rays - I left the office without having had an adjustment and was handed a bill for $220!! And told I would have to come come back for 30 - 40 more visits (at $50 each).”Read moreShow less
