“A few years ago, I was having insanely awful period cramps for months which caused me to throw up, loose weight, pass out, etc. Me and my family went to our local doctor’s office whom recommended us to come here. The wait was around 2 hours because I was not an urgent patient. The hospital was very clean and clearly well maintained. When I got checked in, they put me into one of the emergency booths. It was a pretty cam hospital. I got asked a few questions before a sweet woman came in and took my blood for testing and inserted an IV. She held my hand the entire time and reassured me that everything is okay. Never have I ever seen such kind, gentle doctors. At the end, there were no medical issues found in any of my tests, but they were very thorough and ran many tests such as bloodwork, urine samples, an ultrasound and an X-ray appointment. Thank you, McMaster! You are a lovely hospital.”Read moreShow less

“My comment is specifically about the hospital’s environment and design. A children’s hospital should feel like a place created with children in mind — a place that brings comfort, hope, and reassurance. Unfortunately, the current design feels very cold and serious. The walls, floors, elevators, and overall surroundings are mostly grey with some red, which does not create the warm and welcoming atmosphere children need. Children who come to this hospital are already dealing with fear, pain, stress, and difficult experiences. The environment around them should help lift their spirits, not add to the heaviness they may already feel. Bright colours, cheerful artwork, drawings on the walls, and playful designs on the floors could make the hospital feel less intimidating and more comforting for children and their families. A children’s hospital is not just a medical building — it should be a place that supports children emotionally as well as physically. When a child is suffering, even small details like a colourful and friendly environment can make a meaningful difference “I read some of the reviews, and I find it interesting that only the positive reviews seem to have received replies”Read moreShow less

“I can’t thank enough the L&D staff and NICU nurses and doctors. They were all amazing! I’ve had the most wonderful experience of giving birth and having my baby taken care by the NICU staff.”

“I gave birth to my son Feb 2026 here and also had my care as of 20 weeks onwards with Dr. Sharma. Overall good experience having a high risk pregnancy, got seen bi weekly throughout the pregnancy and my questions were answered. Gwyneth was super kind and helpful from the endo team, and Rene the LC was super nice too for our daily visits. Alex was a phenomenal nurse for L&D. We had to stay for multiple days afterwards, most of the staff/nurses were a delight. Not super fond of having to split the bathrooms between so many people in both standard and private care rooms, id say that is a down fall. The space for the standard ward rooms is very small.”Read moreShow less

“My experience at this hospital was great. The staff was super respectful, professional and polite. I accompanied a patient (family member) for same day surgery (SDS). The patient was explained every step with utmost precision and it was ensured that the patient understood before moving forward. We had an appointment for 9:30am and we didn’t have to wait an extra minute. Everything was on schedule. I am really thankful to Dr. S Sandhu for his patience in explaining every aspect of the surgery, and for answering all questions. The surgery was successful, and the post-surgery care staff were also quite supportive and professional. The overall experience was a 10/10”Read moreShow less

“We had an excellent experience at McMaster Children’s Hospital. From the moment I gave birth through our baby’s NICU stay, the staff were incredibly caring and supportive. The nurses were warm and attentive, and the doctors were excellent. During such a stressful time for our family, everyone made us feel that our baby was in the best possible hands. We’re truly grateful for the care we received here. Because of that experience, we decided to become monthly donors to support the hospital and the work they do for families.”Read moreShow less

“I just wanted to share my recent experience at McMaster Children Hospital. It is such a blessing to have a hospital like this around you. All the nurses, medical staff, Emergency room, Registration desk, Family room Volunteers are so nice. I want to extend my thanks to everyone in 3Y unit and to the whole team of Dr, Louis Braga. We went with so many questions and worry for our 6 months old but we cane back with a relaxing mind and healing healthy baby. They don't only take care of the patients but caregivers as well.”Read moreShow less

“I recently gave birth to our first baby. My experience with the staff, nurses and Obs were excellent. They made me feel comfortable in such a vulnerable time as a first time mom. They explained each procedure and process and made the experience a good one. We now have a healthy baby girl and my husband and I couldn't be more happy. I would highly recommend choosing mac as your birth hospital.”Read moreShow less
