“I’m 61 and have been doing ultra distance sports events for over 40 years. Primary running, triathlons, kayaking etc. I “overtrained “ in preparing for Cabo half Ironman this year and my legs turned to concrete. Struggled to do a 6hr6minute finish there and was entered in a 37km mountain trail race 3 weeks later. I also had insertional Achilles tendon inflammation that was triggering cramps in my left leg and badly limiting my ability to walk.
