“I’ve been going here since 2023, but after this experience I will not be returning and no longer recommend this place. They cancelled my appointment about two hours before it was scheduled, which was very disappointing. The way the receptionist handled the call also felt unprofessional. She started the conversation by saying, “I have bad news for you,” without introducing herself or even saying where she was calling from, which made the interaction uncomfortable. It’s frustrating that clients are expected to pay a fee for cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice, yet when the business cancels last minute, there seems to be no accountability Response to the reply of the owner of massage central: I’m disappointed with your response and how this situation has continued to be handled publicly. The reason why I left this review is because this is now the second time my appointment has been cancelled. The first time was on February 18, 2026, and having it happen again is quite disappointing, especially as a long-time client since 2023. This is not how I thought this situation would turn out, but I’m upset by the way you responded and by the lack of accountability I would expect from a business. It’s also unfortunate to see a business try to shift blame onto the client by saying, “while unforeseen illness can occasionally require last-minute schedule changes.” In my opinion, this situation could have been avoided. If I had been given enough notice, at least earlier in the morning, I would not have been this upset. Instead, the way this was handled — and now this response — has made the situation even more disappointing. First, from what I can recall, I have not cancelled appointments last minute because I was aware from signing the waiver that there is a fee for cancellations made without 24 hours’ notice. As a client, I would not want to be charged that fee, which is why I’ve always respected the policy. Second, if a therapist is sick, they should have stayed home in the first place to avoid potentially getting clients sick, especially in a profession that involves direct physical contact such as massage therapy. Third, I was not contacted “several times on the evening of the cancellation.” I received one text message asking if I could still come in after my appointment had already been cancelled. At that point, I had already started looking for other massage locations and fortunately was able to find another appointment last minute. (See attached, I blurred the phone number for privacy) Fourth, I did receive two calls from an 835 area code number while I was at work today. I typically do not answer unfamiliar numbers or area codes because of the amount of scam calls people receive nowadays. I do have voicemail, and a message could have been left if the call was important. At this point, I no longer wish to be contacted by this business. “I had a really great experience at the Massage Central. Massage therapist was very skilled, attentive, and made me feel completely relaxed and refreshed by the end of the session. You can tell she truly cares about her work. The receptionist was also incredibly warm, positive, and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. “I was able to book a next day weekend appointment with lots of available times to select. I was greeted warmly upon arrival and my appointment was able to start as soon as I arrived. Amanda discussed and listened to my concerns and started the appointment right away. She was tentatively to my needs during the whole massage.
