Raphael has been an amazing support for a shoulder injury for myself and my son recovering from a broken wrist. Sian is always so pleasant and personable at the front desk. It’s worth the drive in from Kaslo. Thank you for you do. Chantel Henschel and Darius Goodhew

I have been recently going to Kootenay Health Services for my back. Raphael has been amazing. Professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The owners are very kind, professional people as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing help!

I come here for physio. The staff are always friendly and you don't have to wait long for an appointment. I've felt huge improvements in the pain in my toe. It has been so helpful.

Raphael provided me with immediate relief for some lower body pain I was experiencing, and curated an easy to follow exercise program to prevent the pain from coming back. It worked! Heidi the RMT also does fantastic work and works with the physios to address specific body issues. 10/10 one-stop-shop for getting your body feeling better.

What can I say? I'm getting older and for some reason my body doesn't like to respond to injury like it used to. Still trying to find someone to blame for the aging part of it (maybe there will be a cure soon??!) but in the meantime KHS picks up the pieces for me. Multiple injuries over the years sustained due to my "can do" attitude when maybe I really can't, thankfully I have access to a clinic and practitioners of this caliber. There gym space is second to none, the staff super knowledgeable and professional. Knowing I have KHS in my back pocket to bail me out really makes me feel like I can keep trucking.

KHS is an incredible business in our community. I've recently worked with Craig (Physio) who helped me recover from a persistent shoulder injury using IMS and strength building. He customized a home-based routine that was easy to follow and fit me in for appointments as needed. Emma is an incredible Occupational Therapist at KHS. Ive worked alongside her and admire her drive to help individuals return to work and return to function. KHS is a dedicated health services clinic, that I recommend personally and professionally!

I will start by mentioning that I attended Kootenay Health Services for 5 months as part of the WCB ASTD program. This likely influenced the behavior of the staff and attending as a regular patient may be an entirely different experience. It was clear that the main focus was not on treatment. The staff, while very friendly, were largely perfunctory and on occasion seemed to act in bad faith. Importance was placed on filing out forms and checking little boxes, while the physical aspect was of worse quality and direction then could be provided by a couple YouTube videos. I attended seeking solutions and treatments for pain caused by repetitive wrist motion. I explained what motions and scenarios caused the pain. The staff nodded along and then promptly ignored everything I said. My "treatment program" seemed to be a general fitness regime. I am by no means out of shape and some of my assignments bordered on insulting. For example at one point I was tasked to do a 4km bike ride on an almost flat trail before my next session. I'm not sure how a bike ride that could be easily completed by a kindergartner relates to my wrist issues. Also the gymnasium sessions were almost entirely spent doing reps on the rowing machine while the therapist was off somewhere else. Worst of all was the enigma surrounding the imaging. I received both an x-ray and MRI scan. The scenario played out the same for both diagnostics. I received different interpretations of the scan from each professional I spoke with. All were dismissive, but the differing stories raised suspicion. I asked if I could see the scan myself. The answer was "No". I asked if I could have my own doctor take a look and give an opinion. Again, "No". In retrospect I believe this place to be an organization of very fine people trapped in a corrupted system. I expect the staff are able to provide much better care if you attend without WorkSafe domineering the process.
