“What started as a very positive experience quickly turned frustrating and concerning within just 10 days. I was originally referred to the clinic through Costco after developing sudden eye irritation shortly before my wedding. I was seen urgently the same day by Dr. Bhavan, who was excellent—thorough, knowledgeable, and clear in his explanations. He started appropriate treatment and advised a follow-up, as I had been prescribed steroid eye drops that required intraocular pressure monitoring. Unfortunately, my follow-up was scheduled with a different physician, Dr. Tang. Although notes were left, the continuity of care from that point forward was extremely poor. At the follow-up visit, Dr. Tang performed a brief assessment. I mentioned Dr. Bhavan’s recommendation that a specialist may be needed if symptoms persisted. She proceeded to book a specialist referral, but during the visit made an alarming and speculative comment suggesting it “could be lymphoma,” despite clearly stating she was not certain. She also said verbatim that “it’s better to tell you that it’s cancer and then us rule it out versus us not telling you that it’s cancer and then it ended up being cancer.” Making statements like this without diagnostic certainty or proper context was extremely inappropriate and left me distressed. After the appointment, I also realized the intraocular pressure test had not been completed. I had to call the clinic to confirm, and was told I needed to return to have it done. This was particularly frustrating given that it was the entire reason for the follow-up. When I returned, the test was finally completed, with no acknowledgement that it had been missed at the previous visit. At that time, I also asked whether the referral had been sent. I was told it was submitted as routine, meaning a wait of several weeks. Given the earlier suggestion of a potentially serious condition, it was concerning that this was not marked as urgent. Overall, the experience with Dr. Tang felt disorganized, lacking attention to detail, and unnecessarily alarming. While I cannot speak to her overall practice, based on this experience I would not recommend her.”

“I saw Dr. Behavan today. He was excellent. I have been having a bit of a complicated vision issue and his exam was careful and thorough. He didn't rush. He was friendly and explained everything to me in detail. He was clear without being condescending. I would recommend Dr. Behavan without reservation.”

“This is an addition to my original review. Anytime I need a slight adjustment, I just call and Tiffany will see me at a moment's notice. She also picked out my glasses for me at my request and I have never received so many compliments on both glasses. I cannot say enough about this business. They are absolutely amazing. I just love Tiffany and the girls at the front reception! I had an amazing experience with Dr. Bowser! She was absolutely incredible — so friendly, outgoing, and took the time to explain everything about my eyes in a way that was easy to understand. I truly felt cared for. After that, I met with the optician, Tiffany, who was just as exceptional. She walked me through everything with so much patience and clarity. Two weeks later, I had an issue with my glasses, and she invited me to come back in to get them fixed. She wasn’t the least bit upset — just warm, helpful, and happy to make things right. I have been to many other eye clinics in the city and these are by far the best people ever! Such a fantastic team. I couldn’t be more grateful for the service I received!”

“Our family came to Barrie for a few days of skiing vacation. Yesterday morning, my son realized he forgot to bring the small suction tool for removing his orthokeratology (OK) lenses. Without this tool, he couldn’t take the lenses out of his eyes. I started calling stores to find one that sold this small tool. I made many calls, but none of them sold it. I thought we’d have to drive to Toronto to get it. Thankfully, one optical store recommended this place to me and gave me their number. The lady who answered the phone was very professional and told me they could help remove the lenses. I immediately drove there with my son. When we arrived, a lady quickly helped us remove the lenses, and she didn’t even charge us. They truly saved our vacation – it was the best Christmas gift we could have asked for. Thank you so much!”

“This was my 1st visit as I was looking for a new optometrist to get my eyes checked. Very friendly staff, knowledgeable and informative. The space is very nice with an open office concept (spacious, inviting & warm), even though I was there without kids I did notice that it was well catered to families/parents with kids of all ages. I was very pleased and happy with my experience as I left feeling well informed and educated about my eye test. Thx you everyone for your awesome service, keep up the great job and I look forward to a long happy relationship at your clinic.”
