“I went to Guisachan Village Physiotherapy upon experiencing 2 herniated disks for recovery. I found the whole system to be unorthodox. From my initial impression and greeting, to the approach and bedside manner. The moment I walked in the door for my initial appointment, I was told that they were closed and to quite abruptly sit down. I was confused for it was 1pm in the afternoon and I was respectfully 10 minutes early for my appointment that day. Nonetheless, we commenced to work on the lumbar traction machine for my visits and progressed up in weight each session. At the 10th session, I had a pretty bad flare up due to treatment with impeding nerve pain shooting down my leg. This led me to not being able to walk for 2 days. I called in and talked to the Physio’s assistant upon my concern. This is whom I did most of my talking to each day before treatment started. The next visit, I was greeted by the Physios assistant and was quite surprised to be put on exactly the same weight for the traction machine. And once again, I had the exact same response. The following visit, I talked directly to my Physiotherapist and I was responded to in a manner that I was very shocked by. To my surprise, the ego was the number one concern in this situation. I can’t even begin to explain how this made me feel. I have since been in contact with Guisachan Village Physio regarding my concerns and I seem to keep getting the same response, justification. One of the members of my professional team that I have been working with and known for years…was also demeaned by this whole experience. This was the day I decided to speak up for myself. It was just heartless. This persons concern was for solemnly for my well being, and it was I whom had asked them for their expertise before consulting with my Physio that day. Needless to say, I am a person who gravitates towards positive energy and love and this is not what I experienced at Guisachan Village Physiotherapy. “When I started going to Guisachan physio back in September- I was in a visible amount of pain daily- I had hip, lower back pain and a consistent pain radiating down my left leg, the simple act of sitting was uncomfortable. Each session lessened the pain and got me feeling back to my normal self again- able to enjoy my morning walks and not have them feel like a chore- thank you Dr Kristy for giving me back the joy of being active! Kristy is so attentive, and lets you know exactly what she's doing and always asks if you are comfortable. The whole staff is amazing, polite and professional. “Over the past 10 months, Shirley , Kristy and Makayla have taken care of me as I suffered some damage from a car accident last Christmas. Without their continuous support and work, there's no way id be feeling nearly similar to how I felt before the crash. The environment is very welcoming, friendly and helpful day in, and day out !
