First Triage nurse i seen was very nice, other nurses were rude when inquiring about wait times and if you tell them your in pain they just get upset and tell you they are not a doctor to go sit down. The Doctor was very sweet and efficient.

Got there 2 people in waiting room 5 pm sign says 2 hr wait. 4 hrs later only 2 people called in and both waiting rooms near full. Ask the guy in blue scrubs at the front desk what's going on as it says 2 hrs and it's been 4 hrs just looking for an idea on timeframe. Very rudely not even looking at me when talking just says in a whining voice yeah well it's a 5 hr wait it's always a 5 hr wait and you can wait 5 more hours. I left before I lost it on the guy. Really hope Ontario health care figures it's self out soon and starts figuring out how pharmacists can be paid to give simple things like tetanus shots as they told me they won't do it because they haven't been told how their getting paid for the service yet... Now I have to take a day off work to go get the shot at the EOHU during their Vax day. Also pay $6 in parking for a service you never recieved after 4.5hrs waiting

We were very grateful for the care received in the emergency department for a loved one. The triage nurse was prompt, professional, and reassuring. Dr. Wael Badawy was exceptional: thorough assessment, great compassion, and above all, a treatment that finally provided real relief after several days of pain. Thank you for your professionalism and compassion.

For the most part I have had extremely positive experiences at Glengarry, especially last Friday when I was experiencing cardiac issues. Everyone I interacted with that day was efficient, professional and compassionate. That said (picking up on what some other commenters have said), a few years ago I encountered a triage nurse who projected a hostile attitude the moment I got there, for no apparent reason. I would imagine the gatekeeper position is not suited to every nursing professional.

I’ve pretty much always had a good experience at this hospital. Compared to many others, HGMH is a true gem in our region. Just was there yesterday and I can’t say enough about the amazing, caring, professional treatment I received. Even my own family provider wasn’t able to diagnose my problem - wasn’t until yesterday at HGMH that I got answers. I understand how health care works since I worked in hospital administration for a few years and I can honestly say that HGMH has routinely provided me and my family with excellent medical care.

I have never experienced so much racism at a hospital until I been here. Dr. Scharf failed to address my health needs during a mental health visit. After stating my needs, the only one who tended to me was a student nurse I am guessing who understood my frustrations. The setting and culture of this hospital is extremely toxic toward people of colour. After I stated my discomfort, he told me that race does not matter. This team requires a review of patient centre care and I suggest education about mental health practices, trauma informed care and anti racism training. In addition, a paramedic named Shaun who transported me to this hospital called me by the wrong name and then yelled in my face for correcting him. If you can drive in to Ottawa, drive right past this hospital.

I'm the kind of person that stays away from hospitals at almost all cost but I went to the ER with symptoms that could not be ignored. I was seen fast, the nurses were very good, the doctor was great to, she took the time to explain without ever making us feel rushed. Thanks to the whole crew!

Had to have a IV drip every eight hours this weekend . Nurses were great and the wait time was 3 1/2 hrs and out around 5 1/2 hrs for first initial visit . Every other visit was about 40 min . Great job guys . Keep up the good work

Overall, this ER has great staff and usually reasonable wait times. Unfortunately, I’ve had repeated negative experiences with one doctor who makes me and my kids feel very unwelcome because I’m a Quebec resident. He questions why my child is here, and didn’t even tell me what my baby got the last time. Always asks why I don’t go to children hospital in Montreal and if next time my kids get sick again just go straight there instead of coming here. My child was curious so she turned back looking at him and coughing while he was listening to her lung. He then turned her head away. English isn’t my first language, and instead of explaining it, he got impatient and seemed frustrated because I didn’t understand his question. He also misdiagnosed my baby’s ear infection as teething, sent us home without any medication. Brought her to the walk in clinic a few days after and she indeed had ear infection. I don’t know why the hospital still keeps this dr. I feel very anxious now just to think about if I ever have to see him again at this hospital. If you bring your kid here and see this dr, better just leave and come back when it isn’t him that’s on call. I have seen some other doctors and they are much nicer.

I drove 50 mins to get there in ER. Their nurse was so rude to me like she’s tired of her job. She did my blood pressure and my pulse check. Guess what she asked me to remove the blood pressure machine thing myself LOLLLL. I have a type of bacterial infection. She asked me why i was there I was still explaining she just stopped me in middle and asked me to wait outside then finally after 3 nd half hour I was called by the doctor… guess what the doctor didn’t even care to sit down. He was standing next to the wall like a teenager. He told me you know you have this this condition I said I already know. But I need to know why m keep getting sick even though I’m on the best antibiotics since 1 year. Guess what he said “your body is just too sensitive” 💀 LMFAO moral of the story if your kid is sick or you have some serious issues please go somewhere else. Since the staff there doesn’t want to work. The only person who was nice to patients was their receptionist. Also the hospital management can tell their nurses to focus on their job instead of focusing on their makeup and hairs. And also they want 20$ cash if you want a work off note 🤣🤣
