I came to GF strong after completely losing my ability to walk.. I was in the hospital for 2 months prior to coming to GFS and spent another 2 months here at GFS. I was diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy. My time at GFS was to say the least, was life changing in some ways. From the nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and all the staff, their all so kind and understanding, I couldnt thank them enough. Healing from traumatic experiences is difficult, I felt extremely venerable in these times, but everyone made me feel welcome. I felt so shy using a wheelchair for the first time infront of people, but at GFS there is zero judgment. Everyone goes through something in life that is out of our control. All I wanted to do was go home after being discharged from St. Pauls hospital, but im very thankful to my team at the hospital for sending me to this wonderful facility. I will never forget my time spent at GFS. I will forever be thankful. Bless everyone who works there, and anyone who is fortunate to come here. ♡ i still have a long road ahead of me, but without the help of GFS, I wouldn't be where I was today.

I was at gfs, for nearly 3 months. Im so glad that this was where i ended up after my operation. All... the staff where and are, really awesome people. If there was any problem, it probably was me. The food actually was pretty good. It just ended up being repetitive. Again, staff are really good. Im not recovered yet. But they still are supporting me, months after my discharge. Thank you, gfs. For being there for me, for when I really needed it.

Had to go there for orthotic shoes. The team was SO kind. I was very emotional due to pain and they were so empathetic. Successful with my treatment. They have changed my life for the better!

Terrible experience. The receptionist was shockingly rude and dismissive. Zero empathy or professionalism. They don’t care what you actually need, only what they want to provide. Completely disorganized and unhelpful. Avoid GF Strong if you value being treated with respect.

I would recommend the concussion clinic to anyone and everyone who has suffered a concussion, no matter how long you've had PCS (persistent concussion symptoms). While I've been seeking treatment with a concussion physiotherapist that is attending to more physical symptoms, I had no idea what support an OT could provide (and admit it's hard to sum up!), but I've found my time with Erin to be the most helpful in my recovery thus far (in combination with other therapies and my own pain education). Overall, Erin felt a bit like a life coach. She talked through all my challenges in returning to my regular life routines, identified areas of growth and support, helped me set goals, and worked on providing supports for how to reach those goals. Most of my goals revolved around setting healthier routines for better sleep, regular exercise habits, and managing brain breaks and breathing exercises in balance with my work schedule and desired increase in capacity to work. However, throughout this process, I feel like I've gained a better mindset and understanding of my health holistically and learned life skills that will support me beyond returning to my pre-injury state. I am so grateful for her compassion and empathetic nature and all the work she does. I think she's endlessly talented in her work. Kelsey at the office was also always quick to get back to me via email or the phone for scheduling or rescheduling appointments. As a side note, there seems to be a shortage of resources across all health sectors, so it did take me a couple months to get into the program after a referral, but this is not the fault of the staff. I hope they continue to get all the necessary funding to support their program (and grow it!) because it is life-changing. Lastly, one thing I would wish for is better promotion of this program. Despite various google searches, I never came across the concussion clinic until my lawyer mentioned it to me. I wish more doctors offices or physiotherapy clinics would be aware of the program and refer here, as I think I was 7-8 months into my PCS before learning about it.

I went here to get a consultation for a prosthetic with Kramer. He was not personable at all nor was he listening to what I was saying. If you are expecting to have an appointment with someone that’s personable, welcoming, or someone that listens to what it is you want for a prosthetic, don’t come here. His assistant was better than him but my experience was so tainted I left after 10 minutes.
