“It was my first time at FYidoctors for an extensive checkup. Dr. Mandal took the time and asked questions, provided sound care advice for my aging eyes. She addressed all my concerns and questions, provided a most detailed and friendly examination, without the feel of being rushed. Her team was highly professional, by far the most caring and friendly people. My glasses were picked out with focus on my personal needs, extremely helpful, I felt comfortable with my choices, with zero pressure at all. I highly value personal care where they see you as a person, and they deserve the highest star rating there is for professionalism and personal care.”

“I went to FYI doctors as a friend highly recommended them to me and I have to say I was not disappointed. Everyone there was friendly and took the time to explain everything to me. I had a ton of questions as this was my first experience at an optometrist the doctor answered all my questions in detail and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. Tara was kind enough to even help me pick out some frames!: I am super satisfied with the service I received and I love my new glasses.”

“the receptionists are great! The test was not so great as I felt very rushed. the doctor didnt even wait for me to say which one of 1 or 2 are clearer, just proceeded on to 3 or 4. I felt pressured to purchase expensive eye drops, she only explained about the private pay surgery for cataracts and I had to ask about the OHIP covered surgery. I got the impression she was not fond of seniors. and did not listen very well. For this reason I did not trust the results and I am taking my concerns elsewhere.”

“I always feel welcomed and well cared for by everyone. From the new prescription to the fitting of the eyeglasses is a smooth procedure, each person an expert in what they do. Another bonus is that the glasses are a reasonable price!”

“This happened over a year ago now.. but I do think about the experience from time to time because of how taken advantage of I felt so might as well warn others. 🤷‍♀️ Please DO NOT go here if you are indigenous and if you solely rely on NIHB as your insurance. (Go to Westmount Optometrist if you are indigenous they will help you and it’s fully covered there) When calling I stated that I was indigenous and would be intending to use my NIHB insurance which then I was told that it would be most likely be covered and that they would LET ME KNOW if it was or not when I got there once they ran it through my insurance. I agreed and made the appointment as I’ve never had to pay out of pocket for an appointment before at this certain optometrist. Long story short they operate very fishy here if you are on NIHB… I received my services and after i was told I would have to pay out-of-pocket which I wasn’t made aware of during my appointment… I felt very taken advantage in this situation.. mainly because I talked to my sister’s optometrist and other optometrist in the city and they couldn’t understand why this certain establishment wasn’t able to check if I was covered on the phone with NIHB like other optometrist do. I don’t know… All I know is that me and my twin sister were givin the exact same eye exam at two different optometrist and her appointment was covered fully, but mine was not.. make that make sense. Just be aware you may be taken advantage of.”

“I just visited FYi Doctors and honestly had a really good experience. The staff were super friendly from the moment I walked in and made everything feel comfortable and easy. The eye exam didn’t feel rushed at all. The optometrist actually explained what was going on with my eyes in a way that made sense, which I really appreciated. It felt thorough and professional. They also helped me pick frames for my sunglasses without being pushy, which is rare. Overall, the whole visit felt smooth and well organized. Definitely glad I chose this place.”

“This is my first visit to this clinic. They have the latest equipment and medical devices for funduscopy. The medical staff, both specialists and assistants, are professionals and friendly “ specially Dr. Kayali “ . Appointments are very punctual “ almost no waiting period “ . Although I didn't need to change my glasses, I wandered around the clinic's optical department and found they had new models and competitive prices. Very neat place & comfortable atmosphere. Private parking lot. Good location”
