“I was able to get an appointment within 1 hour due to a cancellation. Staff were efficient and very friendly. Dr Chang was also very friendly and explained everything to me in detail. I would definitely recommend FYI Doctors in Ladysmith.”

“Long time customer. Usual in depth description of the tests and the type of glasses which will best suit me. One employee still on staff from my first visit. Very satisfied with the local business which I prefer to support as versus travelling farther for better prices (if any). Update - June 30, 2026: Yesterday, I got a call from FYI that my glasses could be picked up. This is 2 weeks sooner than was anticipated. Very fast.”

“I had an amazing experience both times I've gone to them! In fact, it was definitely the best experience I've ever had working with an optometrist/glasses place. All staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful. Everyone really knew their stuff, and I was able to learn everything I wanted and more. They even booked me ahead of time for a check-up in 2 years' time. Every part of the process was smooth and thorough, from the check-in, exam itself, and even working afterwards to budget and find what I'm looking for in terms of lenses and frames. I ordered a pair from them and was told it would take about two weeks to get them made, which is normal, but they were done within a week and they made sure to call me to let me know I could come by any time to pick them up. When I did, I was pleasantly surprised by how much was included and how it was laid out in a lovely tray. The person who helped fit my frames was super friendly and made sure to do their best to make sure it was as good as they could get them, but also let me know that I can return any time to have them further adjusted if needed, or if I just had any other inquiries in general. When I was there for the first time, I was quite impressed with the variety and selection of frame options-- especially for a smaller store that had just shifted their location next door only a few days prior! In my past experiences with other optical places, most of the frame variety was much the same few designs, all by big overpriced brands, so I would just opt to order online. I'm a big supporter of being able to customize and express yourself through fashion, so to see a nice variety of options was really refreshing! All in all, I had an exceptionally pleasant experience with FYidoctors in Ladysmith, and I actually look forward to seeing them again next!”

“The staff here went above and beyond to repair 3 sets of older glasses for me. One pair was very hard to mend and I'm sure she worked on it for a while to get it right, and another needed new arms and she found some that matched great from her bag of parts! Zero dollars! I am grateful that there is a helpful and skilled eyeglass business here in Ladysmith.”

“I went to pick up my glasses and she handed them to me. No adjustment or how do they fit? Nothing as in NO help NO service or care. I can't see well out of them at all and I ordered the Best ones possible as I wanted super thin. They are thick and heavy one side look like coke bottle. I went to Costco tonight and was explaining my poor vision and how I can't wear one pair at all and the one pair I showed her were not good vision as well. She asked me a few questions and asked if the FYI Ladysmith adjusted my glasses and I said no not one if those less than helpful girls offered any help or adjustment. Costco said that my glasses needed adjustment and so she did it and cleaned them for 0 money and these girls especially the one with dark hair did nothing absolutely nothing for me. The cost without the frames were $1,800.00 wow not even frames! Since I received the no help and my lenses are like coke bottles I will be going to a much better place to have my vision checked again. I do not trust that this place gives two hoots about their customers and even when I had my exam the doctor got very rushed at the end and pressed a call button so one of his not trained girls could come into the room to break up the time with the Dr. He or they must not think much of others and think we don't know what their up to. I am NOT happy with my exam or any layer of service as they are truly lacking. I explain in detail when appointment was made the difficulty I have with my vision and I don't believe she really got what I was saying as they don't give a dam. I want my money back and will be going to a good Dr to check my vision properly. Why I say this is because of the end result which is over priced not good vision glasses. Give me my money back!!!”
