I've been here to see massage therapists multiple times and for some reason, every time I call and ask for a registered massage therapist, they never have one available. So naturally, I book with non-RMTs if I'm in alot of pain. During my visit today, I told the front desk that I was dealing with low back pain, and wanted the therapist to focus more on the low back, and with the rest of the time, spend more on hamstrings and if left, do other parts of the body as needed. She conveyed that information to Julia (since there's a language barrier). Julia started working on my back, spent most of the time on upper back, had a very inconsistent routine, and rushed at the end. For example, she started treating my upper back on the right side, briefly went into my right low back, then randomly started working on my left upper back, then randomly went back to my right low back, then randomly started working on my right shoulder, etc. She then put my arms in weird stretch positions, leading to brief impingement-like pain in my shoulder and felt extremely uncomfortable. She THEN GAVE me a modified thumb move chiropractic adjustment, WITH A THRUST. I understand that massage therapists can perform mobilization of joints, but NOT SPINAL MANIPULATION. Adding a thurst at the end of a grade 3 mobilization turns the mobilization into a grade 4 mobilization, aka a high velocity low amplitude thrust, aka SPINAL MANIPULATION, something that is a controlled act and not in scope of even RMTs. She proceeded to perform the same adjustment on the other side as well, all without consent or disclaimer. I felt that I couldn't tell her to stop, as she did not speak english. Fast forward to more than half way through the session, she finally started working on my low back. It seems like at this point, she realized she was running low on time and started rushing. She briefly worked on my hamstrings, spent more time on my calves, then at the end, told me to flip over, facing up. She then proceeded to turn my head towards the right side by placing one hand on my chin, and one hand on the back of my neck, and cranked my chin towards my right shoulder, and performed another thrust at the end, causing sheer discomfort and a crack sound, PERFORMING ANOTHER SPINAL MANIPULATION, A CONTROLLED ACT, which is NOT EVEN IN THE SCOPE OF REGISTETED MASSAGE THERAPISTS, let alone non-RMTs. Before I could even say something, she put my neck in the same position on the other side and performed another terrible adjustment, causing a headache and discomfort in the neck. She then proceeded to pick up my right leg, flex it at the knee, push it from the knee towards the bed with one hand, while with her other hand placed on my right shoulder, she pushed on it to create tortion on my spine, and under maximum tension, she performed another high velocity low amplitude thrust, by droping her body weight through her hands, aka spinal manipulation yet again, a CONTROLLED ACT, not in the scope of registered and non-registered massage therapists alike. She then proceeded to do the same on my other side. The massage ended very abruptly as she ran out of time, and left me with dizziness and a profound headache. I'm typing this review while sitting in front of the spa in the parking lot, and feeling too dizzy to drive and experiencing a severe headache. I informed the front desk as soon as I got out. She said "just say no if she does it". I explained to her that spinal manipulation is a controlled act, not in scope of RMTs, and there are risks and benefits associated with it that are supposed to be communicated with patients for even those practitioners that are legally allowed to perform spinal manipulation. I also informed about the risk of stroke with cervical manipulation, mentioning that if this is something this practitioner is doing with all her patients, with improper technique, she might hurt someone really bad. She said we do back one at other location too, but ok I'll tell her.. I paid full cost for treatment and look forward to hearing from owner about this.

We booked reflexology with a neck and shoulder massage. Although Sandy was not an RMT, she did an amazing job. Pressure was good. Technique was good. Place was clean and hygenic. If you want an RMT, ask for it specifically when making an appointment. Overall a pleasant experience.

I came for the first time to Formosa wellness this past weekend. I booked the 90 minute special (45 minute foot massage + 45 minute body massage). The receptionist was very nice and they provide you with complimentary tea and shorts to wear for the foot massage. Mark did a wonderful job. He massaged every single knot out of my body and I felt like a new person afterwards. I will definitely come again and recommend this location to my friends and family.

I had the best massage experience in Markham! The therapist was excellent, skillfully addressing my problem areas. The receptionist was welcoming, and I loved the fantastic deals during Happy Hour. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant. I will definitely be back to try more of their massage services!

Amazing staff 👏 allow yourself to be pampered. If you need a nice relaxing massage for yourself, group, or better half. This is the place that will accommodate that. . Super accommodating and impeccable service. You'll get that 5-star treatment. This is their second location and it is a lot larger than the first. I recommend you try all the treatments. Especially, the deep tissue, stone, and all the body and foot massages. I recently tried ear candling and it was an interesting experience. You get a full neck massage. I have yet to try the facials.
