“This place could most definitely do better. Some of the psw workers are rushy , rude and ego eccentric. There are residence in here with a normal mind and treated not kind , stupid and belittling. The recreational workers a Jamaican girl or one with an strong accent is very nosey , and likes to talk alot of bs! Your workers need to stay in line and stop telling lies so that they dont get into trouble. This place just protects these workers with no consequences. Mind your business when relatives , other outside help or people come in. Half the time I come in to this place to visit the residence tell me they want to leave and absolutely dislike it here. Some of the trivia girls are pushy , and make the residence feel like they have NO free will. Absolutely pathetic!”Read moreShow less

“My mother at 101 who did not have Alzheimers went to this facility in 2025. They. do not tell you that 80% of the patients have Alzheimers and freely integrate with regular patients. My mother was pulled out of bed, flipped in her wheelchair, and they were constantly attacking her in her room. Meeting with John the head was told all floors are like that. In 10 days my mother did not recognise me, nurses said she was suffering from ptsd from the attacks. One older lady caught me off guard and pushed me onto the bed, I rang the bell but no one came. After those 10 days I took her home, the next day she was talking with the neighbours and so far is doing well. So unless you can advocate for yourself in there, or have Alzheimers, it is a sad way to end your days. I truly feel it needs a management change, but regular psw and nursing staff are great just overworked. Also the room you are shown during orientation visit may be nothing like the one you are shown.”Read moreShow less

“My moms been in here about 4 years I think I'm.not sure . Her name is jassodra rampersad aka bate. She went into palliative care and my sister and I would stay nights with her.. my sister would be sleeping most of the night..I get sleep when I get home. I had an experience with a night shift worker. The first time I met her I was with my sister and I don't know how to explain it but I di know people have their own problems to deal with and not everyone knows about it. I ran into her couple nights in a row. One night I was sitting in the hallway and I was feeling kinda hungry and I saw her and asked if I can get something to eat..she came back with a cup of coffee and several options of cookies for me. She's such a kind soul. She's a sweet person. I think her name was Sharon mcmurter”Read moreShow less

“Our father was a resident at Fairview Lodge (Whitby Junction) for several months, and we can genuinely say we have nothing but amazing things to share about this facility and the staff. From the moment he arrived, we felt a sense of comfort and trust knowing he was in the best hands. The staff at Fairview Lodge are exceptional—compassionate, attentive, and consistently going above and beyond to ensure the residents are treated with dignity and kindness. They took the time to get to know our father, cared for him with genuine warmth, and communicated clearly with our family every step of the way. The facility itself is clean well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed to feel welcoming and peaceful. Every time we visited, we noticed how clean, organized, and calm the environment was. It truly felt like a home—not just for our father, but for us. We had many friends and family visit during his stay, and without fail, every single one commented on how impressed they were—not only with the space but with the energy of the people working there. Several even said they would want their own loved ones to be placed at Fairview when the time comes. We are deeply grateful for the care our father received. Thank you to the entire team at Fairview Lodge for your dedication, compassion, and professionalism. You made a meaningful difference in our lives.”Read moreShow less

“After almost a year moving from hospital to hospital we are finally at Fairview. It is such a relief to know this is the best care for her with caring staff. As my mom slides down hill with dementia they have the staff to care for all her needs. The stress relief on myself is amazing knowing she has the care she needs. Also management and team meetings to help assist you in anyway. This is the right place or her. Thank you Fairview.”Read moreShow less

“My father has been at Fairview Lodge since last October (2024). He has received (and is receiving) outstanding care. The staff at Cullen Gardens are exceptional. Kind, professional, and they are providing the best care for my dad. My dad has dementia and it was so stressful before he went to Fairview, now my stress level is down because I know he is being care for in a loving, clean environment. The facility is very clean, the activity programs are great, the meals are also very good. Thank you so much.”Read moreShow less
