“I’ve seen Dawna a couple of times now—years ago for a lash lift and tint, and just recently for classic lash extensions—and both experiences were fantastic. She took the time to do a quick consultation at the beginning, made sure I was comfortable, and was so friendly and easy to talk to. “I wasn’t going to leave a review but unfortunately two days after my appointment with Dawna my eyelids are still swollen and are now forming white little dots. I booked her for lash lift and tint and brow lamination. The appointment itself was not a good experience started off by her getting soap in my left eye she did try and get it out, but unfortunately, she was not gentle enough, which caused the soap to go in my eye. I probably could have been more vocal about it being painful, but unfortunately, for the rest of my appointment my left eye was on fire. Eventually she did try again to get it out, and that helped slightly, but in the process. It also removed the dye off of my bottom left lashes. She did also give me a wet cotton pad but unfortunately it had one of her hairs on it.. There are a few other things I could nitpick but that’s not the goal of this review. overall I am disappointed in how my lashes turned out my eyebrows are fine. I’ve had this type of appointment in the past with other people and their process was different than Dawnas and I much preferred theirs. I have a vacation in a few days and I hope my eyelids can get back to normal before then. I just hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. Also just a note I am not allergic to anything and this is the first time this is happening to my eyelids. - Response to Dawnas reply I originally wasn’t going to leave a review just because of the soap in my eye—the real concern is the health issues I experienced afterward. My eyelids remained swollen for days, developed white spots, and my vision was blurry for hours after the appointment. That’s why I felt it was important to share my experience. I understand that accidents happen, and I appreciate that you acknowledged the soap incident. However, your response was disappointing because it shifted the responsibility onto me for not speaking up more. While you did ask how my eye was feeling, that does not change the fact that the irritation lasted for hours and was not properly addressed at the time. Simply wiping it with water and advising me to ‘give my eye a good rub’ was not an appropriate solution. You also mentioned that I left happy and did not complain, but being polite in the moment does not mean I was fully satisfied with the service. Many clients try to be respectful, even when uncomfortable. The fact remains that I experienced significant irritation and swelling afterward—something I have never encountered with similar treatments elsewhere. Additionally, you stated there was ‘no way’ to predict my reaction to the products you used. However, this was not an allergic reaction—it was irritation and possibly an infection, which could result from improper technique, expired or contaminated product, or lack of sanitation. Instead of considering these possibilities, my concerns were dismissed. Lastly, you suggested that I should have reached out privately rather than writing a review. While direct communication can sometimes resolve issues, reviews exist to help potential clients make informed decisions. A professional response to feedback acknowledges concerns and focuses on improvement, rather than deflecting responsibility. “I went to Dawna to fix a set of lashes I had got done some where else that didn't turn out great. The ones she did for me were so much better looking and she charges less too AND she waxed my eyebrows as part of the service. She also was really great to visit with during my appointments and such a kind person. She went above and beyond to help me when I booked a last minute fill as well. She talked me through everything as she was doing it, which is great because you can't open your eyes the whole time, so it was very comforting. “All I can say is WOW!! So I used to get my lashes done back in high-school which was like 5 years ago. In the past year I moved to Lethbridge and was nervous on finding a new lash lady. So naturally I looked up the top rated service and reviews did not lie!! GO HERE! I REPEAT, GO TO EYE CANDY!!! I went for a Hybrid full set. I would say it took about 2 hours but with the music and conversation it only felt like maybe 45 minutes!! She does it right out of her home and it was amazing. 100% going back.
