“I had an extremely upsetting experience with Dr. Sam Hung at Envision Optometry today. From the moment I checked in, Dr. Hung was short and rude. I initially tried to brush it off, but the interaction only got worse. I recently had a baby, and during pregnancy and postpartum my vision has noticeably changed. My last eye exam was less than a year ago, but I explained that my glasses no longer feel right and I wanted my prescription re-checked. His response was, “Can you see with your glasses on?” When I said yes, he replied, “Well then our job is done. It’s not my job to make you feel good.” I was taken aback and asked if I should just cancel the appointment, commenting on how rude he was being. He ignored this and continued the exam in the same abrasive manner. When asked about family history of glaucoma and I mentioned both grandparents, he responded, “I don’t care about your grandparents, that’s too far away.” The entire appointment felt dismissive and demeaning. His communication style was cold, abrupt, and completely lacking empathy — especially toward a postpartum patient raising valid health concerns. I was left in tears during the appointment. The most frustrating part? My prescription had changed, confirming the exact reason I came in. Professional competence means little without respectful communication. I would not recommend Dr. Sam Hung at Envision Optometry to anyone seeking compassionate, patient-centred care.”Read moreShow less

“The personnel at the reception was very unfriendly and arrogant. I don't know her name or her job title, because she didn't say any greetings or introduction. She did run some tests without any explanation. I didn't understand what she was doing, but she had her own schedule, and my family had to fit in. I felt like my family was such an inconvenience to her. The optometrist was no better. I won't go back here.”Read moreShow less

“Had a great experience getting my eyes checked. The receptionist was very friendly. Dr Hung did a great job checking my eyes and then took the time to explain things to me. I did not feel rushed at all and left understanding things much better. Thanks!”
