“I have a mixed review for Elu Wellness based on two completely different experiences here in May. In early May, I booked a prenatal massage with Raissa, and she was absolutely wonderful! The treatment was highly effective, relaxing, and tailored perfectly for pregnancy. Based on that session alone, I would have given a 5-star review without hesitation. However, my second visit in late May was highly disappointing and left me injured. I booked a 45-minute prenatal massage with another RMT, Sophia. I admit that I was 10 minutes late due to traffic, which reduced my remaining session time. When Sophia asked about my condition, I explicitly told her that BOTH of my legs were feeling uncomfortable, though the right side was my primary concern. To my shock, instead of balancing the remaining time or doing a safe, general prenatal adjustment, Sophia spent the entire 35 minutes hyper-focusing and aggressively pressing on one tiny, specific spot of my right thigh muscle. While the intense focal pressure temporarily numbed the muscle and made it feel less sore during the session, it completely destabilized my already vulnerable late-term pregnancy joints by over-relaxing the only muscles that were supporting my pelvis. Immediately after getting home, my right hip and inner thigh flared up with excruciating pain. The pain has steadily worsened, and as of today, I am completely unable to walk due to what feels like a severe joint/ligament injury triggered by the prolonged, improper localized pressure. My left leg and left hip are completely fine, which makes it undeniable that this injury was caused by that session. As a late-term pregnant client, I trusted that an RMT would understand that deep, non-stop focal pressure on a single area can cause severe hyper-mobility and trauma to pregnant ligaments. I really appreciate Raissa’s professional work, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend Sophia for prenatal care due to the lack of clinical judgment that resulted in my current inability to walk.”Read moreShow less
