“My experience with Dr. Miki was dreadful. She is a classic example of someone who chose psychiatry for the power trip rather than a genuine desire to help people who are suffering. Avoid at all costs.”

“This place is one of the most disgusting and brutal places that dared to cross me and my family. I promise you reader that you will never need to come to this place as a want/need. Never! P.S. I will continue this message later.”

“There was a doctor here named dr. Fredrickson that treated me with medication. As symptoms popped up like lack of empathy, lack of feeling, lack of energy, lack of brain power to finish a full thought. I expressed to her since being on these medications I felt like I wasn’t the same person. And the only option she gave me for why was because of the psychotic break. She convinced me I needed these medications at this dose 15mg of abilify. Fast forward today my experience with a different psychiatrist his idea was less is more, he thought. oh you haven’t cried in over two years? Maybe that’s a symptom of too much medication. So he wanted to start decreasing the dose. And over the next year i came back to myself. I felt the person who I use to be 🥹. I realized the decrease in meds helped me gain my energy back, I was not started to be able to articulate my thoughts like i use to. And this is so important. To be able to express yourself clearly in society is vital. Especially with doctors. So I must say there is hope out there when you face mental health issues like bipolar disorder or psychosis. But anlso remember people do get MIs diagnosed. I got diagnosed in vgh and it took 7,years for me to find a psychiatrist to see that I was not doing well and not getting any better even know I was taking the pills as prescribed. Raven song community health station, saved me. And it saddens me I feel I lost years of my life, do to organizations like the early psychosis intervention program. And thier ideas of pushing medication on people who face mental health issues and may not be able to push back when they feel they need to.SELF ADVOCATE. Or find a safe family member or friend to help. Someone you trust to do re search into each medication and dose and the what symptoms could be. Find alternative methods to help metal health other then just medication. One day I hope to be completely off any mental health drugs. And I feel that’s possibility. My diagnosis changed from bi polar with weed induced psychosis to ptsd with depressive disorder. I now am doing great better then I ever have i the past 8 years. And all this advances I’ve made in my life is due to. The reductions in medications. That have allowed me to be less sedated, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I can now exercise, converse, and plan for my future enjoyabnly. Cause I know I’m capable to choose which direction my life goes in. A This place sucked the soul out of my body with their need to overuse medication. Advocate for yourself. Cause nobody here did for me. Nobody mentioned any other options of treatment. Other than pills. Fast forward to 7 years later. I believe this place had a negative impact on the treatment for my mental health. If they said start building the capacity to exercise regularly and start implementing healthier eating habits, and the importance of regulating your emotions and nervous system, that this could lead to you in the next couple of years to needing less and less medication I would have need that a another treatment options. but they never explained over use of medication could impede your ability to do healthy things. I was sold the idea if I wanted to improve my mental health this was the only avenue to take. I hope this may help someone. One love”Read moreShow less

“I was sick. I was in EPI. I called for two weeks almost everyday. I was going in psychosis and I needed immediate help. They did not bother to help. I was severely limited with my mental health and had been in psychosis previously. At 20 in this center I asked 4 cops at the building if I could go down two flights of stairs instead of the elevator. (My delusions made me feel an elevator would take me to hell). All four took me to the ground. I was winded and terrified. They handcuffed me on the ground. I was never violent or aggressive. They put the handcuffs so tight they were swollen for days and bruised. I was so scared. I believe that I would have went to normal psych. However they decided to put me in a higher security because I was so elevated from that incident. It was horrible. I trust myself often more now. Think with your head and do what you need to do to get help safely. They don't handle mental health crisis correctly at all.”Read moreShow less

“Would give this place 10,000 stars out of 5 if possible to make up for the bad reviews. They not only saved my life but have helped me succeed well beyond anything I could have hoped for. This is a world class health organization. If you want the most out of this experience, make sure a family member or loved one comes with you as they teach in EPI you are 200% more likely to succeed. Thanks for the great work.”Read moreShow less

“Use of antipsychotics BEYOND first Intake at the hospital is a detrimental tool promoted by early psychosis intervention in Vancouver directly for the pharmaceutical industry to push legal mind altering drugs on Our very young vulnerable adults, when what they need is plant based nutrition, omega-3 oil's, B3, sunlight exercise to heal their brains and to steer completely clear from any and ALL prescription medications. This is how the psychiatrists and so called counsellors at EPI make their money. It is well known that the side effects of these medications (anti psychotics) is Suicide and Suicidal thoughts it's written RIGHT on the warning label!! Yet they PUSH this onto our kids. The people at this place are nothing more than Legal Drug Pushers, getting paid a pretty penny for destroying lives! Take heed, take this warning VERY seriously! I have absolutely NOTHING good to say about this place and their agenda, believe me, I know!”Read moreShow less
