I've been a patient at many dental clinics over the years, and this is by far the best one. Every member of the staff is friendly, welcoming, and professional. The hygienists are thorough yet gentle, making each visit comfortable. My dentist is honest, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. Unlike a previous clinic I attended, they never recommend unnecessary procedures. At one point, another dentist tried to convince me I needed about $35,000 worth of crowns. After coming here for a second opinion, I was told that wasn't necessary at all—I only needed a few minor fillings. The care is excellent, appointments are efficient, and everyone is genuinely pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend this clinic!!

I was disappointed with my experience at this dental clinic. During my son's orthodontic treatment, we were told he urgently needed a deep cleaning and that delaying it could damage his jawbone, which caused unnecessary anxiety. After consulting his orthodontist, we were informed that his teeth and gums are in good condition and that a deep cleaning is not needed. I also found the examination and cleaning fees higher than many other clinics in the area. Based on my experience, I recommend seeking a second opinion before agreeing to costly procedures.

When I arrived I was a bit surprised at all the work I need to have done as I was only expecting to have a couple of fillings today. The doctor took the time to explain what the priorities were and we agreed that I would have the work done over time vs. all in one day. I had one filling done and that was enough to do at one time and postpone the rest as my limit has already been reached for this year. The filling was done efficiently and without too much discomfort. I was also offered the option of paying only the deductible on my insurance on the next visit vs. paying in full and getting reimbursed which is a better option for me. Thank you!

I’m giving two stars because the receptionists were polite and genuinely helpful, which I appreciated. However, my overall experience very poor. During my wisdom tooth extraction with Dr. Halim Sbenati, I was in significant pain and was told that my reaction was “distracting” instead of receiving additional help or reassurance. An inappropriate personal comment was also made. The assisting hygienist appeared inexperienced, the suction was positioned incorrectly causing me to choke, and afterward I developed numbness in my lip and chin for five months. Following the procedure, I experienced repeated episodes of severe bleeding that required emergency care, including one incident where EMS had to be called. Despite the seriousness of this situation, there was no follow‑up from the clinic and no referral to an oral surgeon until I personally requested one. The clinic also felt very sales‑focused, so I strongly advise patients to carefully consider whether any recommended treatments are truly necessary and appropriate for them.

I’ve been a patient at this clinic for over 10 years, and my spouse and children were also patients here, until now. I was repeatedly assured by administrative staff that a note would be placed on our family profiles to ensure that only services covered by our insurance would be provided. At my hygienist appointment in December 2025 (and again on April 17, 2026) the clinic received confirmation from my insurance clearly stating that polishing and fluoride are covered once every 6 months. Despite this, the clinic scheduled my next appointment just 4 months later, not due to any dental concerns. When I attended, I was told those same services were not covered, something that directly contradicts both the insurance confirmation and the assurances I relied on. As a direct result of this failure, I was asked to pay $69 for services I had explicitly declined unless covered by insurance. This issue has arisen multiple times in the past. At this point, it is difficult to view this as an isolated oversight. I feel misled and placed in a position where I am expected to pay for services I clearly refused unless covered. I raised this with Natalie, the office manager. Rather than addressing the specific issue, namely the confirmed insurance coverage and prior instructions on file, she defaulted to repeating clinic policy and did not engage with the facts I was presenting. The concern was effectively dismissed. This points to a systemic problem in how this clinic handles insurance limitations and patient instructions. When confirmed coverage is disregarded and patients are still scheduled and charged outside those limits, it raises serious concerns about the clinic’s practices. As a result, I have cancelled all appointments for my family and will no longer be patients at this clinic. The clinic has lost four long-standing patients over this. Patients should exercise caution and ensure they independently verify what they are being scheduled for and charged, regardless of what they are told. I strongly recommend that the clinic address these issues immediately.

From Julie to Ayushi to Bona to Dr. Sbenati himself, what a brilliant team! Dr. Sbenati is attentive, stops in his tracks to listen to every concern and does a fantastic job. So thorough and reliable. Finally a dentist that truly cares about oral hygiene and helps you get there. A great relief to have such a wonderful dentist for me and my family. Thank you to Dr. Sbenati and his team.🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I’ve been to Dawson Dental a few times now, and honestly, every visit has been great. Devanshi and Aayushi at the front desk are super friendly and responsive — booking appointments is always smooth, and they coordinate everything really well. They’re quick to reply and genuinely helpful. My cleaning was done by Kim, and she did an absolutely amazing job. Everything felt so thorough and flawless — my teeth and gums felt super healthy afterward. I also got my cavities filled by Dr. Shamal, assisted by Madiha, and that experience was just as good. The work was very clean, precise, and completely painless. Dr. Shamal is extremely gentle and particular, which made the whole process very comfortable. Madiha was wonderful too — she helped me feel at ease, especially since I’m a bit nervous about dental procedures. She did very thorough X-rays and was so cheerful and reassuring throughout. Would highly recommend Dawson Dental for their professionalism, care, and overall great experience. 😊

I wanted to thank Dr. Sbenati and his team for the excellent restorative work during my last visit. Your care and professionalism made the process very comfortable, and I truly appreciate the attention you put into your work. My teeth feel great, and I’m grateful for the quality of care you provide. I would gladly recommend your practice to others.

I’ve been a client of Dawson Dental (East York) for years, and today I was impressed by the exceptional service and care from the entire team. Devanshi took the time to explain my insurance details and dental procedures clearly and thoroughly. Truly appreciated!

I’ve been going to this location on and off for nearly 20 years, dating back to before it became Dawson Dental (formerly Dr. Pulec), and I feel it’s time to move on. Over the past few years, the experience has steadily declined, which I attribute to a more chain-style management approach. The sense of familiarity is gone—you no longer walk in and recognize the team. There appears to be constant turnover among hygienists, making it nearly impossible to see the same person twice. Occasionally you’ll get someone who is gentle, thorough, and efficient, but other times the experience is uncomfortably rough. This adds a layer of anxiety each time as you don't know what to expect and have to hope for the best. At my most recent appointment, I had to ask the hygienist twice to be gentler. Despite brushing and flossing twice daily—and even receiving a compliment on my oral care—I left that appointment with small cuts on my gums (above the tooth line), was spitting a significant amount of blood, and was advised to rinse with salt water to help with healing. That should not be necessary after a routine cleaning. The one consistent bright spot has been the administrative team, who have always been courteous and kind (thank you, ladies!) If you're in the market for something quick and impersonal, this may be the place for you. Alas, I'll be in the market for what I know a dentist clinic can be: a place that attracts and retains highly skilled professionals that take great care of their patients and provides a welcoming experience. For me personally, this is not Dawson Dental.
