“The CPO is unable to license over a thousand physiotherapists, WHY?? It's been 2 years. Chiro,s RMTs, Nurses, MDs, they have all managed to problem solve during this pandemic, yet we are the ONLY profession who has been unable to come up with a viable solution. Even though a viable solution was offered by the 5 Universities across Ontario to have a residency program to immediately license the PTs, they have simply refused.”Read moreShow less

“"We are responsible for public safety," as they allow hundreds of thousands of people to suffer while they delay the licensing of qualified physiotherapists. Advocating for a completely useless exam, unique to every other health care profession, all while claiming it is in the best interests of the people, is disingenuous, pathetic and clearly just incompetent governance. “Is there any evidence that the practical exam actually has any benefit for public safety? Because it seems that the only province not mandating it has a 3x decreased rate of physio incidents per physio population compared to Ontario. No other developed country has this type of exam for their physiotherapists and yet they continuously produce highly competent and safe physiotherapists - Where is the evidence that the Canadian practical exam, aside from bringing in nearly $5,000,000 in revenue for those running it, actually provides benefit for the public?”Read moreShow less
