“I am writing this review after waiting for 2 weeks with absolutely zero response to the detailed, polite email I sent to Dr. Hoodfar regarding my recent treatment. The total lack of communication from this clinic, from the front desk to the doctors, is deeply unprofessional. My issue is not about the dentist's technical skill, but a severe violation of patient rights and informed consent. I was subjected to an irreversible procedure—a tooth extraction—without being given a genuine opportunity to discuss the broader treatment plan, risks, or alternatives. The most unacceptable and unethical part of my experience: the extraction consent form was presented to me ONLY AFTER I was already lying in the dental chair and AFTER the local anesthetic had been administered. From a provider's perspective, this might be a routine piece of paperwork. But for a patient, it represents the permanent loss of a natural tooth. Once you are already anesthetized and stuck in the chair, it is psychologically impossible to feel that you have the free time or space to reconsider your options. I valued preserving my natural teeth, which had been stable and functional for over six months, but my treatment philosophy was completely ignored. If you value having a say in your own healthcare, being informed before irreversible surgery, or even just receiving basic communication from your doctor, avoid this place. They do not treat you as a partner in your care; they treat you as a routine transaction, and once they have your money, they will completely ignore your emails. UPDATE Thank you for your response. Before writing my Google review, I first chose to contact you privately by email because I hoped we could resolve this matter through direct communication. I only posted a public review after I did not receive a reply. However, your response does not address the concern I have consistently raised. My concern has never been whether you believed the extraction was medically justified, nor whether dentists know more than AI. It has never been about trusting ChatGPT over a dentist. Those are issues introduced in your response, not mine. My concern is much simpler: Before a natural tooth was permanently removed, did I truly have sufficient information, sufficient explanation, and a genuine opportunity to participate in that irreversible decision? Explaining again why you believed the tooth should be extracted does not answer that question. The consent form was presented to me only after I was already lying in the dental chair and after local anesthesia had been administered. From a patient’s perspective, that is not the time for meaningful discussion or decision-making. A natural tooth, once removed, can never be put back. That is exactly why meaningful communication, informed consent, and genuine patient participation should happen before an irreversible procedure—not afterward.”

“Very disappointing experience with this dental clinic. The billing was significantly higher than average compared with other provincial clinics, and my insurance sent a letter to me not to continue with this clinic. Despite having insurance coverage that covers dental treatment 100%, a large portion of the bill was not covered because the clinic’s fees exceeded what the insurance provider considers standard. This resulted in hundreds of dollars in unexpected out-of-pocket costs. What was even more disappointing was the lack of accountability and professionalism afterward. After raising concerns directly and explaining that there was still discomfort following the treatment, there was no apology, no acknowledgment of the situation, and no offer to follow up or assess the work that had been done. At minimum, a follow-up examination or a sincere acknowledgment of the concern would have been the professional thing to do. If an apology is only offered publicly in response to this review, rather than directly when the issue was first raised privately, that would feel performative rather than genuine. Patients deserve transparency about costs, proper aftercare, and respectful communication when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, this experience broke the trust and made it difficult to return or recommend this clinic.”

A very special mention to Parvin, the dental hygienist, who truly makes this office stand out. She is incredibly attentive, patient, and thoughtful, always checking in and making sure you’re comfortable. Parvin has such a friendly, positive personality that she immediately puts you at ease and makes the visit genuinely enjoyable. She’s also impressively gentle while still providing a very thorough, high-quality cleaning. You can tell she truly cares about her patients and takes pride in her work. “I come from Ottawa to Montreal for my dental care, and it has been absolutely worth it. Dr. Hoodfar and his staff are exceptional—professional, caring, and very attentive. “My mother suffered two months with tooth pain before seeing Dr.Hoodfar at this clinic. We were treated by 3 different dentist but not helpful. She could not even talk last Saturday and I tried many cliniques looking for emergency service. Thanks God we found this one. They are so nice and arranged appointment right away. Dr. Hoodfar is so professional and he cleaned the wound and removed the trouble bone immediately. This indeed resolved her problem and he checked her recovery today. With his help she is finnally getting much better. I highly recommend Dr. Hoodfar as he is the best at Montreal! Very professional, quick and nice service. I wish other cliniques were as good as here. We onw only trust here. And they accept federal dental insurance for seniors. Thanks a lot”
