This review is for my husband who was just in emergency the other day and he said his experience was exceptional everyone from the nurses to the doctors were very polite, professional and helpful. They were able to diagnose the issue that he had and provide treatment within a few hours. He's now home and doing well. Thank you. Owen Sound Bright Shore hospital for being there for him.

I’m sorry but when you bring your 92 year old mom for the second time to the ER with very serious issues!!!! And they make her wait for hrs before being seen!!!! Is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, but yet they are always wanting people to donate!! They need to figure out why their system isn’t working BECAUSE ITS NOT!!!! Every single worker is so rude and uncaring!!! If it was their loved ones you bet they would be livid as well!!! I get it but when your that age trouble breathing and just left waiting that’s PATHETIC,

At emerg for chest pain. Seen for triage within 10 minutes of arrival. Waited about 1 hour after triage to be given a room and was then seen by a nurse who did an ekg and blood test. Seen by the doctor half hour later for an exam and ultrasound. Had to wait another hour and half for a chest xray as that department was backed up today. Was then seen again by the doctor and discharged home with a prescription. EVERYONE who treated me was kind and respectful. I have no complaints whatsoever and am grateful for this hospital in our community.

What an amazing team here. I don’t write reviews often, but with the amazing experience I just had, it compelled me. I just underwent a surgery with Dr Nicholson and her team and it was great. I came in feeling super anxious and from the waiting room to the operating room, everyone went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable. I’m so grateful for the service and care I received here. Thanks to all staff, but mainly Dr Nicholson and her team.

The definition of healthcare is caring for someone's health, physical and mental health. When investigating a problem you need to know all the facts to find the answers you're looking for. In this line of work compassion is neccessary for quality care especially because you are dealing with people in distress. I went to emerge with concerns that I was having terrible side effects from antibiotics that would indicate serious reaction to medication. I googled metronidazole to see that I had many symptoms indicating I should go to emerge right away. My dentist urged me to go if I feel worse, if my throat got tighter, if my stiff neck doesnt get better, and I did. I informed the triage nurse that im having a really hard time thinking straight, that I was having troubles with my vision, and I attempted to give them all my symptoms because I feel its important and that nurse cut me off as I was talking, treated me as though I was just another addict after I told them im really aggitated, rudely said thats not what I asked for when I misunderstood what they was asking me and left me feeling unheard. It was when they took my medication information off of the computer that I felt let down. I have missing teeth from a balcony collapse accident from 2012 in Markdale, I live at the poverty line I cant afford to fix my teeth that are the culprit for the re-occurring infections. Im not an addict I dont have the luxury of affording my children and cosmetic dental surgery. I understand why people would look at me and assume the worst. I left because if I am going to pass away it wont be at a hospital waiting in line to be treated poorly, it will be at home with the people who are kindest to me. If healthcare here is to get better it would require more compassion and less judgement over appearances. Not everyone is an addict and even addicts dont deserve this poor treatment of disdain. Healthcare isnt a job its the movement towards healing, solving health troubles, it feels as though its just for the money just a clock in clock out place. I hope no one else has to experience this.

My mother was in for surgery. We were told they would call me, her emergency contact, afterwards. Nearly 3 hours after the surgery was to be done, no call. They won't tell me anything when I call, claiming I'm not listed anywhere (despite us registering all of my info at check in), but tell another family member that calls that the surgery was delayed (negelcting to mention the delay was several complications) and she would be out of surgery soon. Another several hours pass, no call. I drove to the hospital and wondered around until I finally found her where she had been awake for over an hour and had requested several times that someone contact her family, which she was told they couldn't do 😳 my mother requested food as she had had to fast and had now not eaten in well over 24hrs. The nurse told her if she wanted food that I could leave to get her Tim Hortons. Despite that fact that she had been in the care of the hospital for nearly 11hrs, they had zero intention of feeding her. Absolutely disgusting care.

The wait in the ER when you’re really sick is the worst. Then when you finally get into a room you’re sitting there listening to all these nurses and doctors talk instead of being evaluated. You’ll come in at 12am and leave around 8-9am.

It is difficult to express how much gratitude I have for the amazing health care provided to me and my husband over the past few years! Personally, I just completed my second knee surgery with Dr. Adlington and his team. He also did my first knee surgery in October 2025. Everyone I had the pleasure of meeting were friendly, professional and truly wanted to help. Thank you to all of you who made my surgical journey a very pleasant one! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The most amazing place with amazing staff!! Maryanne on 5 in Oncology is the most amazing nurse you could ever have. She made us every week feel incredibly comfortable and it's people like her that make hard time less hard. This hospital saved my mom's life and I am forever grateful, I am forever thankful. The whole team, from the labs right to the doctor's and nurses are such a wonderful team!! The cancer care team is the best, thank you for all your hard work. Not only do they care for the patient, but they care for the family too.
