Sophie was amazing both pre and post partum! She made me feel a lot more confident going into my labour, and helped me recover after labour. I would highly recommend this service!mentions Sophie Villeneuve →

I worked with Sophie during pregnancy and through two postpartum recoveries and can’t recommend her highly enough. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, and creates a comfortable environment for discussing sensitive concerns. Her expertise, clear explanations, and personalized approach made a significant difference throughout my pregnancies and recoveries. The Beyond Birthing program was especially valuable in supporting my recovery and helping me return to running just a few months after giving birth. I always felt supported, informed, and confident that I was progressing safely. The program is an excellent resource for any mom looking for guidance on pregnancy, postpartum and returning to exercise.

So happy my friend recommended that I see Sophie. I feel much more confident in preparing myself for a vaginal birth with her guidance. I wish that the maternity doctors in Whitehorse would make it standard practice to refer their pregnant patients to her for both pre and post natal pelvic floor care classes, as well as for pelvic floor assessments and treatments; if my friend hadn't recommended her to me and I hadn't known to ask about her at my prenatal appointments then I'm not sure whether the doctors here would have mentioned her services. It feels good to know what is going on anatomically during pregnancy and labor rather than just hoping that the maternity doctors will take care of me or that my body will "know what to do". I prefer to be an active participant in my own pregnancy and labor, and Sophie's classes and appointments have helped both myself and my husband feel empowered in this way. Thank you so much Sophie for helping us prepare for our little one's arrival! Edit: still working with Sophie in 2026 preparing for birth of our third kiddo and can confirm, she is magic. I recommend her to every pregnant person I meet. You need her on your maternity care team.

I've worked with Sophie a few times over the years. I've found her approach to be kind and gentle and so invaluable. I first worked with Sophie while pregnant with me 2nd child and the birthing experience was night and day better than mt first. I highly recommend working with Sophie.

Having Sophie's expertise and the comprehensive modules of the course available during and post-pregnancy not only was critical to my preparation and recovery, but so great to have one reliable resource in the midst of all the information coming at you over the internet. My birth did not go entirely to plan, but I felt I was as prepared physically as I could be, and the medical staff were impressed by my recovery and happy to know I was doing proactive pelvic floor work.

Sophie is amazing! She not only helped me to manage pelvic pain and varicose vein discomfort through my pregnancy, she gave us great tips for labour and recovery. I have had issues with vulvar pain prior to pregnancy, and was really worried what that would look like post labour; but it did not exacerbate my pain; actually I would say it has been much better since my delivery and special care to my pelvic floor recovery. I’m still breastfeeding and my joints may be more relaxed than normal and Sophie is still assisting me as needed to keep my hips aligned. Five stars!!!

Sophie is amazing. I have used digital and in person courses, ebooks and seen her in person consults both pre and post my two babies. She is so well informed and takes a wholistic approach with science and a little bit of magic. I recently bought her pregnancy and labour prep course and really appreciated the pelvic pain release videos for during my pregnancy. The breathing techniques for during labour, as well as the videos to support my partner in learning the pressure point pain release techniques for labour were game changer for my second baby. I highly recommend Sophie's courses, and services if you are expecting or recovering from birth.

Discovering Sophie’s pelvic physio services has been very empowering for me. I first connected with Sophie after the caesarean birth of my first child. After just one postpartum session, I profoundly wished I had known about her services during my pregnancy. Through those initial consultations, I learned a ton about my body specifically and pelvic health more generally and really felt supported in that learning. During my second pregnancy, I was thus able treat my body with more gentleness, awareness and respect. I had set my hopes on a VBAC and Sophie helped me prepare for that goal - which was a success! I am much more mindful with my postpartum recovery this time around, and I am grateful to Sophie for having connected me to my pelvic health. In private sessions and throughout her classes, Sophie offers clear and concise explanations, often supported by incredibly helpful props and anatomical models. Her recommendations are realistic and effective. She is equal parts personable and professional, and is committed to helping women experience physiologically and emotionally healthy pregnancies, birth experiences and postpartum recoveries. I can’t recommend her Experience package enough.

Sophie is a one-of-a-kind physio who serves in a much-needed role. She a wealth of information and personally invested in helping her patients improve. Her therapies are easy to follow but effective and she is wonderful at following up and maintaining open communication; you get the feeling she genuinely cares. After working with her, I've regained confidence and feel empowered to pursue my exercise goals. I will never forget the personalized care she provided and the vast improvement in my post-partum symptoms.
