They were helpful with me about a payment plan for my child, but I wouldn’t call the service very professional. Because they just WILL NOT STOP CALLING. FOR YEARS. I would have continued being a patient there but the incessant phone calls, pestering me to make appointments, felt like harassment from a stalker. Considering it’s all women in the office, they should honestly know better. Idk in what world harassing people is gonna get you more business, but it 1000% drove me away. All Canadian dentists seem to act like scammers now, they don’t like to be upfront and clear about their prices, they aren’t thorough or gentle, they only care about money. I’ve been to about 10 dentists in the past 25 years and no more. I’m going to Mexico for dental work. Crazily enough, they seem to actually have high standards there.

0 stars – Stay away! My experience with this clinic has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. 1) Unnecessary multiple visits & poor cleaning experience: A simple basic cleaning was split into two separate sessions, which felt unnecessary and resulted in being charged twice. On top of that, the cleaning itself was very rough and painful. 2) Wrong treatment focus: I initially went in for a wisdom tooth issue. Instead, they performed a cleaning and two fillings (Which is OK for me as I needed them as well). Only later did I realize that they are not equipped to handle wisdom tooth treatments. 3) Front desk and insurance issues: The front office staff repeatedly failed to process my insurance claims (three times). Eventually, I discovered they were using incorrect information. Only after I insisted did they correct it and successfully process the claim. 4) Lack of follow-up and communication: I was told I had been referred elsewhere for my wisdom tooth issue, but after three months and four reminders, I never received any details. Each time, they said they would contact me—but never did. 5) Misleading and inconsistent information: When I called again (my fifth follow-up), I asked for the Panorex clinic details so I could book my own appointment. Initially, I was told the clinic had no phone number, which made no sense. After insisting, they provided a name (“Canary”), then said there were multiple locations, and eventually “found!” a phone number. Later in the same conversation, they claimed they had actually referred me to a completely different place (“Maxillofacial” which I asked them if they can refer me here instead), contradicting everything they had just told me. When I questioned these inconsistencies calmly, I was accused of yelling, which was not true. Then they denied saying things they had just told me. When I requested my treatment records, the staff member agreed—and then hung up on me. I had to call them again for threatment records. I am generally a polite and patient person, and I understand that mistakes can happen. However, repeated misinformation, lack of transparency, and unprofessional behavior are unacceptable. I have since contacted another dentist, who suggested that they may not prioritize cases they cannot treat themselves. I will be reporting this experience to the appropriate authorities. Note: There was one young female dentist who handled my second filling—she was kind, skilled, and professional. She deserves recognition. 5 stars for her.

Absolutely amazing! Dr Hakim is the sweetest. Took time with my very nervous child and explained everything to her and calmed her down. Clean environment and the assistants are super pleasant too! Definitely going back. Great job!

I do not use Balsam Dental but my wife did until recently. We found that this office usually tries to change the time or date of an appointment shortly before it is scheduled to happen. We recently got a call on a Friday asking to move a Monday 2:30 pm appointment to Monday at 11:30 am. That was not convenient for us so we asked to leave it at 2:30 and they said OK. On Monday morning they called my wife twice to tell her the appointment was cancelled. We were busy and she did not pick up the message. When we arrived we were told there was a family emergency and the hygienist had to leave. Given how this happened and our past history with Balsam Dental appointments, I am doubtful that there was a real family emergency. I suspect that there weren't enough patients booked for the afternoon to keep the hygienist busy so they let her go home. If this was an unusual situation I would not post this negative review but appointment changes here happen often. With so many other dentists in the area I would recommend someone looking for a dentist consider an alternative.

I absolutely love the care I receive here at Balsam. As a formal dentist assistant myself, I know how important it is to have a full service team that takes pride in your oral hygiene. My hygienist Amber is so knowledgeable and explains everything in detail so you know exactly what is happening. The front desk staff are always friendly and make you feel at home. I highly recommend you check them out!

My family and I have been coming to Balsam dental for over 15 years. It's always been a positive, professional experience with all of the staff. They are very thorough on all levels and we trust our health with the team implicitly. Reception is always friendly. Balsam Dental is also involved in the local community. Overall a great business with great people.

Kayla was amazing. I will be coming back specially to her as she’s was an outstanding hygienist. She had an answer to most of my questions as well as she made sure to be professional but still very friendly. The whole time I felt very comfortable in a judgment free zone. I have moved and wanted to switch dentist but thanks to her Belsam has made a new regular. Thanks again for this great service. Never thought I’d say this about a dentist but I look forward to coming back

I have been using Balsam Dental’s services since I moved to the area five years ago. I have been very happy with their services, and I am NOT a big fan of going to the dentist! (due to a negative and painful experience many years ago). Most recently, I have had a cleaning with Amber and Mei, they are both very gentle, thorough, and give helpful advice. Overall, I just really appreciate the way I am treated, especially with my avoidance and nervousness. I would highly recommend this dental office!

I've been a nervous patient for most of my life but Balsam Dental is the most relaxing office I've ever visited. The lovely heritage home and fireplace in the waiting room make it a homey experience. I've been with several of their dentists over the years and all have been very good. Sarah, the hygienist is the best! And Teresa at the front desk provides a warm welcome. I actually look forward to visiting the dentist now 😊.

I went to see Sarah (Registered Dental Hygienist) at Balsam Dental for my most recent dental cleaning. In short, it was the most comprehensive and informative dental experience I have ever had! Sarah is very thorough, explained exactly what she was doing and most importantly, exactly what was going on with my teeth. Suffice to say that her passion for dental hygiene is evident. She took the time to ensure I was comfortable and all my concerns were addressed. Thank you Sarah and everyone on the Balsam Dental team for making my visit so enjoyable. I will be back again soon!
