I got a day pass through my girl friend last week and tried MAA for the first time and WOW. I had an incredible experience! Great gym for sure. I’m just waiting for my other membership to end and I’ll be hitting MAA for my gym needs! Clean, friendly staff and great environment!

I recently had a deep tissue treatment with Alan Wong at the MAA clinic. I’ve been dealing with a shoulder injury for over 10 years, and I honestly don’t know exactly how he did it, but using a combination of different machines and techniques, he was able to release the tension completely. My shoulder is now pain-free! I highly recommend Alan Wong. Thank you!

I’ve been a member of this gym for a few months now, and it’s by far the best gym in Montreal! I recently had a deep tissue treatment with Alan Wong at their clinic. I’ve been dealing with a shoulder injury for over 10 years, and I honestly don’t know exactly how he did it, but using a combination of different machines and techniques, he was able to release the tension completely. My shoulder is now pain-free! I highly recommend both the gym and Alan Wong. Thank you!

Here is my review of MAA after 5 months as a member. I resonate with the sentiment someone else noted that the club treats its members as if they should feel lucky to be there. EDIT following their response: Staff unwelcoming and unable to take feedback, confirmed 😅 Pros: - lovely pool - nice place downtown even just to do your hair or go to sauna / steam room - new, clean equipment - one member of reception, Thomas, was very kind and took feedback seriously - many classes included: spinning, pilates, yoga, stretching, etc. - gym looks very nice both on the exterior and interior Cons: (1) Before I joined in Jan, I inquired about reciprocal gyms across the US/Canada due to how much I travel. I was told: «If you go somewhere that has a reciprocal club, you could potentially access one, as a member! » So, I joined. However in Feb when I tried to go elsewhere to a reciprocal gym in the states, I was told there was an additional daily fee, which was never mentioned to me, nor by any personnel prior to joining, nor stated on their website. (2) Cleanliness of women’s locker rooms: I mentioned a couple times that the mouthwash was often empty, the water fountain non-functional, the shower curtain bar broken, full trash cans, that there was gum on the floor. Each time it took at least 2 communications until something was done, if at all. When I mentioned this as a reason to cancel my membership, I was told this was because technicians are often men and so these repairs have to be done outside of working hours. However, much of the repeat issues regarded cleanliness, not technician work. (3) Technogym app is said to provide a 10% off discount if ordering takeout from the restaurant. Not a huge discount, but it’s cool that members get this extra perk! Unfortunately, when I tried to order via the app, the price was more expensive than the posted menu in front of the restaurant, rendering the « discount » null and void…when I brought this feedback up, I was told it was not true 😅 (4) Very small amount of free lockers. Often full and it sometimes takes awhile to find one that’s available. If you want more locker room options, it comes with an extra fee.. (5) Gym is framed as a « club » in which you can also do work, but very little space is dedicated to this, notably a table and 2 leather chairs next to the staircase and a couple seats next to a workout room. I’m sure there will be more outside in the summer, but that’s not a solution to an issue the other 9 months out of the year. (6) Reception often isn’t overly-friendly, doesn’t act on feedback, just not very welcoming. (7) Hours aren’t great, an additional 1-2 hours in the morning/night could help people with busier schedules. Unfortunately for the 250$ (that’s if you get the annual reduced rate, more for monthly) price tag a month, I felt there was a lack of transparency and cleanliness that I could no longer commit to.

Alan brings profound expertise and technique to his work but it’s his empathy, patience, and encouragement that create an environment where I feel comfortable and motivated to keep improving my fitness. Alan helped me regain strength and well-being after an accident and has consistently gone above and beyond. His professionalism, knowledge, and dedication have made a meaningful difference in my recovery journey.

I recently joined MAA Gym and I really love this place. The atmosphere is great, the equipment is high quality, and everything is always clean and well maintained. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and helpful, which makes a big difference. It’s a great environment to train and stay motivated. I’m really happy I joined and would definitely recommend it!

Excellent gym with really great facilities and a very well maintained pool! I have been training with Yuki for the past few weeks and she is an excellent trainer, very knowledgable and supportive. The workouts are always fun, and she has really helped me reach my fitness goals!! I highly recommend her and this gym to anyone living downtown.

been a member at MAA for one year now and i love it! so much to offer, very clean, the members and staff are always kind. the equipment is state of the art, it's never too busy and classes are lots of fun too. MAA really pushed me to level up my fitness in 2025 :)

Really great facility. I’ve been a member since June and I honestly have no complaints. It’s absolutely worth it, especially with how many classes are included. The instructors are amazing too. A lot of people talk about the price, but they forget everything that comes with it, the classes, pool, sauna, steam room, free towels, and more. This isn’t your typical commercial gym. It’s a full sports club. For what you get, I think the price makes sense.

I believe it's the best Finess club in Montreal at the moment, I see some people wine about $200 a month, but it's a premium gym and that's what it costs. The pool is fantastic, all the equipment is new, there are great classes to chose from and the restaurant 1881 is very good, the best for a Health club that ever been to. Staff is very friendly once their familiar with you. If you go to B.cycle 10 times a month the price is the same or more but all they offer is spinning. MAA has so much more, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
