I was worried as it was my son's first visit with a dentist and Dr. Bruce made it a pleasant visit. Heather, the hygenist was awesome! Finally, I found a good hygenist and will help me of what dental health needed! And her hands were light and didn't hurt me. The receptionist were welcoming.

I have had Dr Woermke as my primary Dentist my whole life. 35+ years with the exception of when I moved away, but I have also been to other Dentist in Campbell River. I love Above Shore Dental. I feel very grateful to have such a knowledgeable Dentist. He tells it to you straight and I have never felt blindsided or misinformed. When I needed my wisdom teeth out, he has hospital access and could see my procedure all the way through as well as identified an addition serious problem and prevented me from a second surgery or possible complications down the road. It's not just him, his staff is wonderful. There are long standing employees whom I love and they make me feel seen and heard, as well as new employees who are just as wonderful. His new hygienist Heather is a great fit for the office and I enjoyed my cleaning last week. The view of the Discovery Passage and Quadra is spectacular and worth going just for that. I would recommend anyone to Above Shore Dental because you will be told the truth and while some people get offended by that, I would rather know how to mentally prepare, how much pain/recovery or risk I have and above all, get it done right the first time. It's a shame, now that I am preparing to have a little one, Dr Woermke won't be able to retire any time soon ;) Thank you Bruce for all your hard work and dedication to Campbell River.

I had gotten my wisdom teeth out by Dr. Woermke and when I got out everything had seemed to be normal ish. It was until I hit about the 3rd day post op where I was still in excruciating pain despite taking stronger painkillers than I was originally prescribed by him. Nothing had seemed to be working, I was still very swollen, in pain, and could barely open my jaw. Just after a week post op, I’m still on aggressive painkillers and in excruciating pain, to the point where I can’t sleep. I went back into Above Shore for him to check everything out, him and his assistant were very rough (my face is still very swollen, and very painful) which I had expressed to him, even with me squirming and making noises in pain he shoved a paste into my painful area (back molar) and said that I’ll be fine after this and to continue to take painkillers until it goes away. I left in pain, and am still in pain just like I was before I went in. Dr. Woermke isn’t my primary dentist, and I don’t know how he is as one, but I seriously advise everyone to NOT go to him for Wisdom Teeth Removal Surgery!

An overall great experience! Hygienist was super gentle and Dr Woermke made me feel comfortable, and was clear in what he was doing at the time and what I needed for future appointments. Will definitely recommend!

I wanted to share my horrific experience with this clinic, it's been 3.5 years and finally I've been fixed and cured from the root canal they performed on me, they left me with a severe infection and the possibility after that my sinus cavity would suffer a perforation when the tooth had to be removed. They drilled through 2 of the roots leaving filling substrate sticking out into my jaw and sinus area millimeters long. They filled over a Crack they made in the tooth and sent me home bloody and quite emotionally taxed from the horrific job they did. I have a neck problem that's still to be diagnosised that set in 1 week after the appointment and it's cost me thousand of dollars. Frankly this review is a kind way of exposing what they have left me with. Worst experience of my life going here and others should beware.

Update: July 2023 I still have nerve damage from him doing surgery on me. I am numb from my cheek bone down. He left a BROKEN MOLAR in me from SURGERY. DO BETTER this is UNACCEPTABLE Had wisdom tooth surgery and he left my back molar root exposed for three months. I have been in almost every 2 weeks regarding pain and I was told to take tyenol , and that I was assured everything was okay. Not. Very unimpressed. I have a infected gums and a tooth nerve dying now and have been in such pain and to be told it was fine when that was not the case..

I wish i could reinstate my previous review! Their Hygienist was amazing! I based it on that. I cannot have epinephrine based freezing as stated on my medical form. Before our procedure i specifically asked about it. He said thats what im giving you. I have SEVERE panic attacks from this! He basically told me its in my head and i create the panic. I secretly took an ativan while he left the room with a numbing agent in my mouth and tears running down my face. No empathy whatsoever. 5 munutes later he proceeds... i can still feel the pain but bear it until I jolt. His assistant says i think she needs more freezing. He says ive already given her 2 shots of the weak stuff. (Ive always been given 3) then turns to me and says look were just beginning the procedure and i cant do more. I could keep giving you more but this a long procedure, which wasnt...turned out it wasnt as bad as he thought. So he injects me with 2 more needles with epinephrine and i can feel the anxiety but i pull through.except now...both sides of my face, eyes and throat!!! Are numb! I honestly cant write anymore about what a terrible bedside manner this dentist has and i wont be returning. Whats the point of filling out a form and disclosing personal information if its not respected and puts you to the brink of embarrassing tears with no acknowledgement 😞 Hands down....this man is a zero.....but his staff and associates pick up his slack

There is no trust with a dental office that will start a procedure without informing the patient. Earlier this year I had a filling placed in Edmonton. Unfortunately just shy of a year later it came out. I went to this dental office thinking they would fix it. They start doing work on it, so I believe they are doing the job I came in for, then he starts a root canel procedure. What kind of dentist would start this procedure without informing the patient?!?!?! Extremely disappointed as I had no pain in that tooth, and had he actually asked I would have told him to wait a month for my dental coverage. Stay away, unless you want a dentist spending your money how he sees fit, without knowing the cost of anything until it's done.

Dr Wormke and his staff are AMAZING. My 80+ year-old Dad is in Senior Care, has some mental health anxiety issues, and they are always incredibly understanding, compassionate, flexible, welcoming, and spectacular to deal with in all aspects. Very professional, precise, and great at explaining things in terms my Dad can grasp. The front end Staff are incredible at what they do, and I mostly don't hate going to the dentist at all now!
