“My wife(Carol) had her mom here for just over 1 year. Staff are wonderful. Compared to other places it is affordable and no nickel and diming. We would definitely recommend.”

“The staff are lovely so if you are looking for a place for your parents to be taken care of with respect this is it. We were definitely oversold on how exciting this place is. There are no trips anywhere, the activities are bingo, word search, Friday afternoon "entertainment" and a book club where they are read to. My mom has been bored, she was really hoping to find people to make friends with and chat but most people are deaf or slipping into dementia. We were told there was three choices for meals, that is some what correct. There is the main course and then two sandwich choices, usually ham, tuna or egg salad. The quality of the meat is definitely not grade A or even B. This is not the fault of the serving staff and they try hard to satisfy cranky seniors. Everything is extra and that's not transparent, common for all of these places but we said mom was moving to have someone do her laundry and change her sheets. That's extra and I wish they had been honest. It's not a bad place, I just wish what David had described in the interview was true”Read moreShow less

“Family member at Abbeylawn. Most caring staff.”

“My father lived on the memory care floor for a few years. We moved him today to a long-term care bed. The staff at Abbeylawn, from Jamie to Alyshia to the front-line staff, were so kind and lovely. Rebecca took the time to keep me updated, even reaching out on her days off. I wouldn't wish dementia on my worst enemy, but knowing my dad was in such good hands made it bearable. Rebecca's words to me today as we moved him say it all: "Thank you for sharing him with us. We all love him."”Read moreShow less

“The Executive Director David is the most honest and kindest person I've ever dealt with! He is one of the main reason why my father stays! My father was previously at Amica and after having communication issues with the management there, the breathe of fresh air that is Abbylawn and their management was a night and day difference. Being treated like a human and not a bank note makes a huge difference especially when dealing with a person's family! If I ever needed a bit of help after retirement or in terms of a quick respite this is where I would go!”Read moreShow less

“The staff that I've dealt with for the most part we're very helpful but they change rules like they change socks one day you can the next day you can't!! I think this is probably very confusing for a lot of the residents! The food has been outstanding cleaning is beyond when the renovations outside are done it will definitely be a 10 plus”Read moreShow less

“Perfect is all I can say! Everything and everyone at Abbeylawn; from the amazingly professional and personal care the management took, not only easing our mother into the residence, but giving us complete peace of mind on her care and safety as well. To the personal support workers, nursing staff and even the kitchen staff, just amazing! Every part of this retirement home breathes care and love and I could not be happier to have my mother spend her days in a place where she is happy and thriving more than she ever did living alone!”Read moreShow less
