As a settler living and offering services in Treaty 1 territory. Shawna strives to position herself as an ally in the process of reconciliation. Shawna has experience working with all cultures and is open and holds space for all communities. Shawna practices from a neuro-divergent perspective and aims to create a sense of safety in her clients. Shawna works from a person-centered, child centered lens and has experience working with children, youth and their families. With children and youth she works in sand-tray, art therapy, narrative therapy and attachment work. With adults she works from a polyvagal lens and works with trauma offering EMDR and other types of therapy with adults and couples. Shawna offers mindfulness and coping techniques to children, youth and adults. Shawna is a single parent to a teen and has three cats. Shawna enjoys travelling and cooking with her daughter.
